Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey hadn't had too much time with the revamped obstacle course before everything happened last week, so of course she was giving it a try again today. And against all better judgment she was doing it in the snow.

Which was actually more slippery than she'd counted on, and the jumps sure looked badass until you were trying to land on a wet surface without either falling on your ass or toppling off the course. And it really didn't help that she could hear the woodchucks laughing about it.

"How's it going?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Cold," Rey said, going to get a towel from one of the palm trees. "I left the snow on if you wanted to take a turn."

She could tease.

"Tempting," Anakin said dryly.

It was not.

[thatwaslucky]

"I run it even if I don't like it," she pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"That's because you're learning and I'm the teacher," Anakin tried.

[thatwaslucky]

"It's always good to keep your skills up," Rey told him.

[sith_happened]

"You just want to watch me run it," Anakin said, smiling.

[thatwaslucky]

"Well, yeah," she said. She actually loved seeing what he could do.

[sith_happened]

"Very well," Anakin said, letting his cloak puddle (literally because it landed in a puddle) onto the floor and igniting his lightsaber. "I'll be back in a few minutes."

He not so secretly loved doing this.

"With the snow," Rey reminded him, settling in to watch.

[sith_happened]

"With the snow," Anakin agreed, wrinkling his nose at her before starting.

On the previous version, he had built in some time to play, but today he went full tilt on the course, trusting in the Force to help him stay steady on the slippery terrain and across the jump over the quicksand. By the grin on his face, he was still having a blast.

Rey was definitely paying attention from below, keeping track of what he was doing that seemed to be easier for him than when she tried it.

Anakin absolutely committed--full out, no room to stop or overthink.

Rey watched intently, though when she saw him bearing the end she did get a towel ready for him. She was nice like that.

Anakin was dripping wet when he stopped in front of Rey, grinning widely. "That's a fun course."

"I know. How did you manage to not fall at all?" Rey wondered.

[sith_happened]

"Years and years of practice," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I do not have that yet," Rey said, frowning at the course. Or rather, at the snow.

[sith_happened]

"You will," Anakin said, smiling.

[thatwaslucky]

"Well, until then I kept almost slipping half the times I landed," she admitted.

[sith_happened]

"How are your boot treads?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"They're good, but these aren't really made for terrains that are slicker than sand," Rey admitted. "I'm mostly used to just stepping more carefully."

"Maybe when we drop Juliet off in Hapes, Jaina can take you for boots," Anakin suggested.

[thatwaslucky]

"But I like these," she said. They were actually well made and had never once given her blisters no matter how much she walked!

[sith_happened]

"Maybe new soles?" Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I was just thinking I would work on my footwork," Rey said.

[sith_happened]

"Or you can do it the hard way," Anakin agreed, smiling.

[thatwaslucky]

"I do that," she smiled back. "I'm sure it's something as easy as being mindful of where I land, or something."

[sith_happened]

"That would definitely help," Anakin agreed, winking.

[thatwaslucky]

"This was one of the first things I worked on when I started this," Rey said with a smile. "Doing the footwork didn't feel natural at first."

[sith_happened]

"It is a little like relearning to walk," Anakin admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"A little. I felt like I had to connect with the ground, sort of, and that actually helped," she said.
