Silver had actually gotten to work early for once. Between Rey being gone and the television being worse than usual he had gotten bored and went in. Not really to do any additional work, mind you, unless doing quality control on the rum counted as work.

Yep, the rum was still rum.

Rey missed work, so after stopping back off at her apartment she came back out to the bar.

"Hi there," she greeted him.

"Hello," Silver said with a smile. "I didn't know if you'd be back in time to visit me."

"I would have gone to your place if I was late," she smiled back. "I missed you."

She really had. That was the first time she'd been overnight anywhere without him.

"I missed you too," he said. "How was your trip?"

"Complicated," she said slowly, after a long pause. "I don't know how much I can say. It turned out there was a lot going on with Annie and her job that anyone knew about."

Silver nodded in understanding, moving to get Rey her usual soda. "Were you able to help at all?"

"Maybe? I hope so. Everything came out last night so I stayed to see how she was doing the morning after," she explained with a nod of thanks. "It's one of those things where you talk it out instead of me hitting anyone with my staff."

Even if they super deserved it!

"And I take it you prefer hitting things with your staff?" he teased.

"Sometimes people deserve to be hit with a staff, that's all," Rey said firmly.

"I don't disagree," he said. "It seems more fun than talking as well."

"You would say that," Rey teased.

Silver shrugged. "Are you going to deny it's more fun?"

"I don't know about fun. Satisfying, maybe," Rey said. "Anytime I get violent it's because I have to."

And then she added, "Sparring aside."

"That's fair," he said with a nod. "I'm glad you were there for your friend, even if I did miss you terribly."

"It was only a day," she said with a soft smile, like she hadn't led off with telling him she missed him.

"It was a very long day," he said.

"I'll try not to make a habit of it," Rey said. "At least after I've visited another universe for a scary wine night."

“I am looking forward to that,” he said. “If only for the gossip.”

"I will tell you all of it." Well, anything that didn't fall into the category of things she'd promised Anakin she wouldn't talk about. "And I promise to come see you right when I get back."

“Even if you don’t get good gossip I’d like you to see me right when you get back.” They’ve gotten to the gross area of their relationship for sure.

She didn't think she'd ever get over having someone who wanted to see her like that.

"I will," she promised, smiling. "You really did miss me."

“Of course I did,” he said, smiling. “Especially at night, I don’t sleep well without you.”

"Really?" She felt like she should be past the point where that kind of thing gave her flutters in her chest, and yet. "It's a good thing I'm back to fix that."

“I know, I’m very relieved,” he said lightly. “You know how much I love to sleep.”

Which he would not be doing no matter how bored he was.
