Devil's Nest | Sunday Evening

Silver had a nice semi-vacation out in space, although some might argue he didn't do much in the first place therefore didn't need a break from anything. Whatever, he had fun even if his hair was still recovering from the humidity of Ajan Kloss.

There wasn't all that much to do at work today, which wasn't surprising, but he busied himself with going through their olive supply and tossing any bottles that were expired. Last thing he needed was someone getting food poisoning from a martini.

"You look busy," Rey said as she took a seat. Or maybe she wasn't used to seeing him do much when she got in.

He shrugged. "I got bored. Figured I should do my job for once."

"How is that going?" she teased.

"I'm still bored," he said, going to grab a soda. "But it's a productive kind of bored."

"Can I help with either the boredom or the productivity?" Rey asked.

"Well you're making me work," he said, placing a soda in front of her. "That helps things a little. How was your day?"

"Easy enough," she said. "Finished up work from last week, otherwise there's not much. This is definitely the highlight of my day."

He laughed. "That's not saying much."

"Then you underestimate how much I like coming to see you," Rey told him.

"Maybe you're overestimating how entertaining I am," he joked.

"I think I'm the better judge for that," she said. "Considering I do keep coming to see you."

"I suppose I'll have to trust your judgement," Silver said. "You'll be sure to tell me if I stop being entertaining?"

"Of course. Though I don't see that happening," Rey said. "We get along too easily for that."

"One day you will find something about me that really irritates you," he teased. "It's inevitable."

Rey smiled. "Such as?"

"You think I'm going to tell you?" he asked. "That's a trap."

"I still haven't found anything irritating, and I'm starting to get concerned," she teased. "If you could lead me there..."

He laughed. "I'm sure you'll figure it out for yourself soon enough."

"Or," she said, "whatever turns out to be irritating is something very minor I can just deal with."

"Well that's the best case scenario," Silver said. "But I'd rather not risk it."

"I suppose we won't know until we get there," she told him. "In the meantime you could find something irritating about me."

"I'm not going to try to find something," he said. "I want to be surprised by your flaws."

"I should say that I'm not looking for flaws, it's just that none have come up so far," Rey clarified. They hadn't even had an argument that wasn't because Fandom did something weird to them.

"Do you think that's odd?" he asked.

"I don't know. We've known each other for almost a year," she shrugged. "I've never spent that much time with anyone before, but I usually get annoyed with people much sooner."

He laughed again. "I am honored to not have annoyed you yet. I'm going to try to keep the streak going."

"It helps that I'm biased," she teased.

"That is a win for me. Helps take the pressure off some," he agreed, smiling.

"And I definitely wouldn't want you to feel pressured," she said, taking his hand.

They really were at the sappy phase.

"It's a good kind of pressure," he assured her. "Keeps me on my toes."

"You're not wanting to get complacent?" she asked.

"Nobody wants to be complacent," he said lightly, squeezing her hand. "At least I don't want to in this area. I'd hate to get lazy with my affection."

If she was being honest with herself, that was probably where her thing about expecting flaws came from. Not wanting to idealize it.

"I would definitely tell you if that was happening," she assured him. "I've gotten spoiled."

A little hot for it, but whatever.

Eric was indeed here! Wearing a wife beater and leather pants because it was stupidly hot for May and yet he still looked amazing in leather pants.
