Diaz & Ass.; Monday [05/31].
Rosa had said she had to work that Monday to get out of a Memorial Day thing with her family.
Rosa had no work to do that Monday.
Not unless you counted sitting back with your boots on your desk drinking coffee and looking smug to be work.
(She did. It counted. Especially when you were this good at doing it).
Diaz & Ass. is open!

So for lunch time, he'd be coming down with some ribs and corn.
"Busy day?" He flopped on the chair next to Rosa's desk, set the food down, and put his feet up on the next desk.

Then made a small grunt of appreciation at that first bite. This was so much better than some dumb barbeque where she'd have to avoid talking to people she was related to.

He brought down the pot along with a new mug, and picked up a rib. "Anything remotely interesting?"

"Some pretty good videos of cats being complete dumbasses," she offered, faint nostalgia in her voice over those masterpieces already. "And I've compiled a few dossiers of problematic tweets by all six of the rumoured directors for the new Crimson Portal movie so that I'm ready to drop them the moment the official choice is made."
Not because she actually cared either way.
Sometimes, you just had to revel in being an agent of chaos. Possibly blackmail. She wasn't ruling out blackmail, either.
"What've you been up to?"

"Food doesn't make itself," Miguel retorted. Then he paused. "So far. I swear, this island. That was not a challenge!" he declared to the ceiling.
"Also sourcing some UMF for the new guy. Seriously, worst superpower ever."
He slurped his coffee. "I made a cat breathe fire once."

Rosa. You literally met him.
"And on accident or on purpose?"
The answer to that question made a big different, she felt, and not just in what follow-up questions she might have.
no subject
"Oh, on purpose, definitely," Miguel said. "Well, mostly. I was going for general fire generation, not specifically breath."

Now, if he'd have said something along the lines of early-'90s-to-mid-2000s wrestling-looking-MF'er, then maybe he'd have her...
And as much as the 'attracts bullets' part was getting her attention (albeit it in an entirely 'I have so many guns I could test that with' sort of way), the cat was definitely the more interesting half of this conversation right now.
"...why?"

Miguel shrugged nonchalantly; maybe a bit overly so. "Well, you never start with human testing."
