Fandom Trooper Station, Wednesday

Had Danny gone into work in a bad mood? No. But the moment he was there, it was suddenly Like That.

Give him a little while and he'd realize this was just another weird island thing. But for now he was going to complain about the lack of donuts and fresh coffee.

Steve was, apparently, also in that mood. He stomped into the office dripping wet and in a "MAY THE FIELD DAY BE WITH YOU" shirt that had been intended for someone half his size. (He'd ripped off the sleeves already because he was That Guy.)

"What is your problem?"

"Excuse me?" Wasn't it great when weirdness synced up?

"Why are you yelling?!" Steve asked, looking stung.

"You came in pretty aggressive," a now very female Danny replied.

"I really don't think I did," Steve said, grinning and wearing a tie. "Why are you a girl?"

Danny might have seemed like this wasn't worrying, but it was. Oh, it was.

"It's one of those days."

"You were a cute girl," Steve said, smiling.

[hatesparadise]

"Thanks," Danny said from up on that horse.

[grenadesandohana]

"Nice horse," Steve said, blinking.

"I hate this day," Danny said cheerfully.

"Beer?" Steve offered.

Nope, sorry. Danny was busy kissing Lori. Remember her, Steve?

Probably, judging by the death stare. "Hello again."

Look, even after being here for six months, Travis still held out hope that when Things Happened on the island, someone would be, like, in charge of it. Which was how he decided to head to the trooper station after spending some time at the park.

How he ended up wearing his oxygen mask as well as his full turnouts, and holding a chainsaw at the trooper station was . . . unknown.

But not his fault.

Great, now Danny was injured and on the floor. Somehow it was probably Travis' fault.

"The hell?"

"Sorry!" Travis grimaced as the chainsaw disappeared. "Are you okay? I didn't hit you, did I?"

"No," Danny sighed, somehow casually sitting next to Steve now. "This is just something this place apparently does."

"That," Travis said as his helmet appeared on his head again. (But hey, no chainsaw this time.) "That is not an explanation. Why does everyone think that's an explanation?"

"Because a real answer would mean going nuts?" Danny, now female again, said with a wry sigh.

"Uhhhhh huh," Travis said, clearly not satisfied with that answer. ". . . You look like my old captain, like that."

Not exactly like her, but Danny had a similar sort of blonde-haired intensity.

"Believe me, you're preaching to the choir here." And he'd sullenly accepted parts!

“This is all very disconcerting,” Travis said, clearly overwhelmed.

[hatesparadise]

"You don't really get used to it," Danny said with great sympathy.

Travis was suddenly shirtless, wearing only his baggy turnout pants and suspenders. He looked down at himself, then back up at Danny.

"Yeah, I'm not getting used to this."

[hatesparadise]

Well, did Travis want a hug? Because apparently that's the response Danny was having.

"If it's like last time, it should only be for the day."
