Covent Garden Flowers; Wednesday [06/30].
It was after a customer had claimed, in a raving review, that the buttercups they'd purchased actually tasted like real butter, that Astrid (giving a very experimental lick to a bonsai which wound up tasting like green tea) realized that, in general, especially considering the oleander, that licking plants was generally a bad idea, and so she quick whipped up a sign that felt like it shouldn't need to be said, but one could never tell:
Please Do Not Lick the Plants!
Many Flowers May Be Deadlier than they Appear!
It was after realizing that a lot of the flowers themselves seemed to be trying to take little licks at her whenever she passed by that Astrid hastily added:
Do Not Lick People, Either.
They, Too, May be Deadlier than they Appear.
Not that she'd imagine anyone would do anything but laugh at the idea of Astrid being deadly, but, at the same time, those were the ones that got you the worst from not having expected it.
Either way, curiously at some point got the best of her, and she gave herself an experimental lick on the back of her hand, and was pretty sure it was lemon.
