The bar finally seemed to have good alcohol again after the hole incident, and for that Silver was very grateful. The shift seemed to move faster when he had good rum around. And also he had stuff to serve customers. That too.

He was there.

"This looks more normal," Rey said with a smile as she took her seat.

"It's nice, isn't it?" he said with a grin. "You don't know what you're missing until its gone."

"I assume the Dr. Thunder is gone, too?"

That stuff was a travesty.

"It's probably been hidden in the back room again," Silver said. "Waiting for another disaster before it makes an appearance."

"Let's never have that bad a disaster again," Rey said. "That stuff was personally insulting."

And she was usually so forgiving!

"How's today going for you?"

"Better than last week," he said, going to get her a (name brand) soda. "Feel like this place looks normal enough to almost completely suppress the hole thing in my mind."

"Good. Anything I can do to help you suppress?" she asked.

"Oh, no, I'm basically a professional by now," he said, sliding the soda over. "How was work? Anything interesting to fix?"

"Thank you," she said, taking the drink. "No, it was completely boring, and I'm very glad for that. I think it'll pick up if we have a normal week."

"It's been a lot recently," he said with a nod. "I hope next week is very boring."

"We're owed, really," she said. "I would like to be complaining of boredom by Thursday."

"You better not complain about boredom," he joked. "You should be thankful for it."

"I can be grateful and do extra training at the same time?" she compromised.

"I'll allow it," Silver joked.

"Good, because it's that or pester you," she teased.

"I don't think you've ever pestered me," he said. "Are you even capable of it?"

"I have no idea how I could have never pestered you," she admitted. "I'm practically hanging off of you most of the time we're together."

He laughed. "You are not hanging off me. At least not in a way that's pestering me."

"I'm glad to know that, since I wasn't likely to stop," she said.

"I'd never try to stop you," he said. "I encourage it, even."

"I didn't know there was a correct answer till you said that," Rey grinned.

He laughed again. "Come on, you didn't really think I'd mind the pestering, did you?"

"You never know. You could have just been nice about it," she lied. "What if you had other things to do?"

"Oh yes, because I'm known for my thrilling social life." He had enough of that back in the 18th century, thank you.

"All right, point," she laughed. "How about, you could always want quiet time without me."

"See, that's what I do during your social time," he teased.

"Apparently we have a system that works," Rey said. "And I didn't even realize it."
