So maybe it was a little silly, but Faye for sure did a couple little skips back and forth across the door's threshold when she came in today. Just to double-check that she could, indeed, come and go as she pleased.
With that settled, she took up her usual post with her feet up on the counter, producing another bag of jellybeans from somewhere and plucking up an ammunition catalog to peruse. She had a birthday next month, after all.
[open, potentially on the slowish side!]

Right now Stark was just stopping in to say hello because he'd been out walking. And he hadn't actually purchased anything on his unexpected visit last week. Maybe he could change that today. Or not. Maybe it was just an excuse.
"Are you busy?"

She could probably even talk at the same time. So many skills!

"And of course you can do both. I'd expect nothing less. But I wouldn't want to distract you from either thing. Especially the candy. But if I'm not too much of a distraction...I never did make any purchases."

A violence date! Faye's favorite!
"So, okay, we were looking at, like, energy pistols, right?" she checked, setting her catalog aside so she could swing herself over the counter.

"I've gotten tired of being...Feeling helpless." Stark admitted. "Not that it would have helped with...everything lately." He waved vaguely at the ground, then shook his head. "But other times. I thought it might help."

Faye herself had shot up quite a few murderous strings of lights, last Christmas!
"And besides, it might've helped in the hole," she added, a little darkly. "Had we been down there longer."
no subject
"I'm not sure more weaponry in the hole would have helped anything..." He hadn't been doing well. "But I'm glad it didn't come to that."

And look. Look. If they'd been down there all that much longer, Faye wasn't entirely certain that factions wouldn't have formed or something, and she wanted to be in the most heavily-armed faction, in that case!
(Really, she wanted to be in charge of the most heavily-armed faction, but that would probably never, rightfully, happen.)

If factions had formed, Faye had brought multiple armed ships with her. Her faction would have been fine. Probably.

Like, what was in this for Liam? People weren't just...you know, heroically nice to their neighbors unless there was a benefit to them, in Faye's experience.

Because it would be silly if all of Stark's neighbors on that floor were running to his rescue, suddenly.
"But I'd rather have something to fight, next time," Faye added. "The hole was...frustrating that way."
no subject
"I'm hoping we can have some time without anything attacking or going horribly wrong," Stark said, looking around the shop as if he half expected something to jump out of a corner after he said that. "A little calm would be nice."
"But you're right. It was frustrating, not being able to do anything about what was happening. Still...I'm glad it only felt unsafe, down there. And it wasn't really."
no subject
That would have been fun.

"We may have gotten out just in time. I didn't need to be down there any longer. Would you have kept me safe? From attacking giant worms and mole people?"
He knew, or thought he did, the answer to that already.
no subject
"You just want to hear me say it," Faye said lightly, leaning over to press a kiss to his cheek. "Of course I would have. Happily."
Partly because it would have probably chilled her out some to shoot at things, honestly. But also because that's just what she would do these days if anything came after Stark

"You know I would return the favor, if the opportunity presented itself?"
