The park, Friday evening

Jon was restless.

With Summer's help, he now had both a phone and a computer, which meant he'd been able to get online and find forums where people discussed their frightening encounters with the supernatural. It wasn't exactly ideal - like trying to subsist on crackers and water - but at least it was something.

But now with sustenance of a sort, a place to live, a job that didn't (apparently) involve working for a boss determined to bring about the apocalypse, and in fact no upcoming apocalypses at all (and there still should not be a plural of that noun), Jon was a bit...lost.

It had been far too long since he hadn't been running from one crisis to another, and he wasn't at all sure what to do with himself.

His new apartment felt stupidly large and empty, so instead he headed outside and wandered a bit. The park seemed nice, even if flamingos near the duck pond (people somehow appeared there now and again, getting soaked and walking off grumbling) really didn't belong in this climate (they'd been brought here by a man for his girlfriend and they'd never left).

So he wandered around a bit and sat on a bench, enjoying the calm night and trying not to feel like he was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
