Covent Garden Flowers; Wednesday [09/15].
A date had been set for a trip out to California to finally speak with her mother, which made it difficult for Astrid to really focus on anything else. It was also difficult to not notice the irony of the fact that her visit coincided with Parents Weekend here at the school. Wouldn't it figure, that when everyone else's parents and family came here to visit them, Astrid had to do it back-asswards and go out to visit her mother. It seemed fitting, in a way; even on a weekend that was supposed to be about Astrid, everything would revolve around Ingrid instead.
Needless to say, she was gravitating heavily toward the oleander today, both in arrangements for customers and in her sketchbook, and images of her mother's face, her eyes, wondering if she'd changed much since the last time she'd visited her, which seemed ages and ages ago, and if she'd actually have the strength to follow through with what she wanted to do when finally face-to-face again.
Perhaps that's why Ingrid's face kept peeking out of her sketched flowers so much today. As if training herself to be able to look at it and not give in.
Covent Garden is open!
