When Astrid got into the store that day for her shift, she just sort of had to pause and look at the banner that was strung out over the Squishy machine that wished everyone a very happy Hildegard von Bingen Day, and there was also a small table had been set up next to it so that everyone even enjoy a free slice of birthday cake from J,GoB to also celebrate National Bakery Day.
Maybe it was because the upcoming meeting with her mother was looming like a dark cloud over her shoulders, but Astrid could't help giving Apu a disparaging look as though he was really starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel with some of these, wasn't he? But he just lifted his chin and defiantly returned to his sweeping.
Astrid, for her part, grabbed a slice of cake and got comfortable behind the register, and then started to look up Hildegard von Bingen on her phone and actually discovered that she was a pretty cool lady and maybe she owed Apu an apology for giving him a hard time for wanting to just celebrate obscure figures in history simply because he could.
