The Park, Specifically the Duck Pond, Saturday Evening
The ducks and flamingos were very surprised at the sudden appearance of two men in the pond. One of those men was probably also quite surprised to find himself in a pond and not standing in a bar needling the other just for fun.
Stark, on the other hand, was aware this was going to happen and was going to take advantage of the element of surprise while he could. He knew this was almost certainly not going to end well but that hadn't stopped him.
He wouldn't really drown Spike but he could try and hold him under the water, just for a moment. Maybe that would get him to shut up.
[some are expected but feel free to come gawk at the dudes in the pond if you like!]

Spike had all kinds of ways to finish that sentence, but he wasn't going to get to say any of them because his mouth was full of pond water.
Fine, he could fight dirty, and thus he was going to just try to use his very long legs to kick at Stark and maybe unbalance him.
no subject
This had been a bad idea. He didn't care. Trying to throw a punch, particularly hampered by the water, was also a bad idea. He didn't really care about that either.
no subject
That punch was pretty easy to dodge, at least for Spike, and instead he was going to use the full advantage of his height to throw himself at Stark and hopefully just knock him down into the pond muck so Spike could hit him more.
no subject
It still hurt. And he was still mired in the muck.
no subject
But now he was just going to try to beat the hell out of this poor huddled guy in this pond muck, mostly for something to do. (This was definitely less about Faye for Spike than it seemed to be for Stark; Spike had mostly just been looking to get a reaction.)
no subject
And while this was clearly hilarious, even at a distance, something seemed weird.
"Are there two guys fighting in the pond over there or is it just me?"
no subject
"There are," she said, delighted at the prospect. "We should go watch!"
What could possibly go wrong?
no subject
She paused, tilting her head at the action. "I know him."
Give her a second to realize that was her alien Spike was beating up.
no subject
Wait a microt.
"Who's he hitting? Oh. Frell."
no subject
Faye, who else would it be?
"-- oh, fuck me. Get off him!"
And so that would be Faye throwing down her traffic cone and stomping over to wade into that water and yank Spike off of Stark by the hair.
Literally the only advantage she had in a fight against Spike was the element of surprise, and she was successful here. Spike rounded on her, catching himself before he smacked her in the face, too. "What?"
"What do you mean, 'what?'" Faye yelled, giving Spike a shove just to get him further away from Stark. (And because she was mad.) And now she was going to turn her attention to the guy in the muck. "Are you okay?"
no subject
That would probably be more convincing if Stark hadn't spent the past few minutes getting pummeled in a pond. It would also be more convincing if he didn't look like he'd just been pummeled.
"I think."
Rubbing a pond mud-covered hand on his jaw was also not making his statement more convincing, was it?
no subject
"He started it," came the incredibly pouty reply. Spike had just discovered his cigarettes were waterlogged.
For some reason he did not think Faye would let him bum one.
no subject
"I just wanted him to stop," he added in a quieter voice directed at Faye. "He wouldn't. He wouldn't stop and I got angry and..."
And he'd ended up here.
no subject
Maybe that explained some things.
Spike, for what it was worth, was watching this display with something almost like jealousy, but it was more like a sort of angry incredulity. Which was quite the stance to take, for the guy who had not only very much used his words to start that fight, but had also definitely done his best to beat the utter hell out of his opponent. "How'd we get here?"
no subject
At some point, in private, he'd admit that he'd made a very poor choice.
To Spike he just said "magic." Smugly.
no subject
Faye didn't even reply to that, instead just rolling her eyes at Stark.
no subject
"You came over to me!" Spike, you absolutely started this. "You started talking to me and I told you you didn't know what you were talking and I told you to stop and you didn't."
no subject
"I don't know why you brought him," Faye called from where she was gingerly examining Stark's face. "He hurt my alien."
The scoff from Spike at that was probably a little much, but also probably expected.
no subject
"Oh, the tall punchy one belongs to you?" she asked Jet. "He usually try to kill people in ponds?"
She was pretty sure Stark was fine. She'd seen him in worse situations.
"I'm fine," Stark repeated. Still unconvincingly.
no subject
Probably for the best that Jet hadn't ended up in the pond, all things considered, or this thing would be really ruined.
Faye shot him a suspicious look. "What kind of something." Statement, not question.
no subject
Stark was going to carefully get himself all the way out of the water now, giving Spike a very wide berth as he moved a little closer to Jet. "You did?"
Chiana was going to keep an eye on Spike while also sizing up Jet. "Were we supposed to bring presents? I didn't bring presents."
no subject
Faye didn't know it, but Faye wanted a DRD. Bring one next time, Chiana.
"This came for you," Jet replied, pulling a tape -- similar to a video cassette, but slightly different -- from a giant pocket and holding it out.
Faye just stared at the tape, already taking a hesitant step away. "Who sent it?"
"Dunno. Just says your name on it."
no subject
"What is?" Stark asked, curious now. He could talk to Jet. He kind of liked Jet.
no subject
Faye did not take it. "Why?"
"It has your name on it."
"But how'd they find you? Who delivered it?" she replied, frowning.
"It was delivered. Faye, take it or I'm dropping it in the water."
no subject
Faye could decide if she wanted it later. He didn't really think Jet would drop it in the water after bringing it all this way but he hadn't expected a number of things recently. Like getting himself beaten in a pond, for example.
no subject
Jet just sighed heavily and passed the tape over to Stark, rolling his eyes. "I think you're supposed to watch it. It's a video."
no subject
"The other one definitely wanted to kill you," Chiana confirmed cheerfully.
no subject
"THIS WAS GUCCI."
no subject
"What are you doing in there, Kamilah's sister?"
no subject
no subject
Chiana took a few steps closer to get a better look, cocking her head and then leaning a bit. "That happens when you kick someone? That why tall, dark, and punchy was in there?"
