Well, Faye was here. Faye wasn't in space, Faye wasn't hiding in her apartment, and Faye wasn't pretending she didn't have a job. She was actually here, and had even taken a few minutes to straighten those adorable colored-on pumpkins that the baby had been working with the last couple of weeks.

She also had a betamax tape with her, since she hadn't figured out what to do with the damn thing since Jet had given it to her, but that was what today was for! Sure, she was at work, but she was less focused on the sale of guns than she was on researching what to do with this thing Jet had given to her.

It seemed like it was something she could watch? But also it was clearly some kind of artifact, so it might take some doing as far as tracking down the means to watch it.

Din had learned all about holidays in regards to a skeleton being dressed up in silly outfits. Which probably wasn't helpful at all.

"Faye," Din said, nodding in greeting. He at least had a little bag of sweets from that bakery in town. Which lured a small, green kid out from the pillow room.

"Were you hiding back there the whole time?" Faye asked Grogu, unable to be mad about it but vaguely suspicious all the same. "And hey."

"He likes to nap there," Din said like that was perfectly normal. He took a slice of pumpkin bread out of the bag for the kid before offering the rest to Faye "How are you doing?"

"Oooh." Yeah, she would be taking that pumpkin bread, thank you. Even if she was a little iffy on whether bread should be orangeish. "I'm fine. Good."

And maybe wasn't especially believable there, but she sure was trying.

"Nice to see Greef again."

"He told me the same. Frequently." Poor, poor Din. Had to talk to his sort of friend. "Saw your friends showed up."

"'Friend' is a strong term for some of them," Faye replied with a very slight smile. "But yeah. Jet had to deliver this to me."

She waved the betamax tape at him, looking unimpressed.

"And Spike tried to kill Stark." Possible exaggeration but also kind of not?

"He didn't try to kill him." Because then Stark would probably be dead and then Din would probably have to shoot someone.

Because Stark was a nice person.

"At least it was in that bar. What's that anyway?"

"Totally did," Faye countered, but really, if Spike had been trying, there would have been bullets and Stark would have never seen it coming.

She held out the tape for examination, shrugging a shoulder. "Old Earth thing. I think you're supposed to watch it?" But also on what? Faye didn't even have a DVD player.

Din was used to holoprojections, so he wouldn't be any help. His aesthetic just 70s/80s, but wasn't actually that Era.

"Huh. Maybe someone here would know?"

Yes, find someone on island who remembered Betamax so you could watch them turn to dust in pain.

"Is there anyone here that old?" Faye wondered, wrinkling her nose. "Oh, maybe like, Lucille."

FAYE.

"Might be worth a try." DIN DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER, OKAY?

"Maybe there are other old-timey people," Faye mused. Lucille was just the one she personally knew, since they'd three-minute-dated and 'taught' a class together, but maybe there were others. "Or if that doesn't work, maybe I can take it to a museum."

Or just show it to someone born before the year 2000 and they'd probably have a good shot at identifying it.

"Is there a museum here?" Wait, did that owl leave one behind?
