Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [09/29].
Apu-san was in a markedly terrible mood that day, to the point where Shunsui, who generally tried to just ignore Apu-san as much as he could, couldn't help but notice it. There was no expectant elaborate dance numbers with voracious singing through the aisles. There was no influx of geese fluttering out from the back room. Not even an excuse to get out of work to attend a grandchild's birthday! There was just a sour mood surrounding him like a dismal miasma as he went about angrily stocking shelves and occasionally sending withering glances in the direction of where Shunsui was camped out at the register as usual.
And a part of Shunsui wondered if he should try to think back on some of his more recent exploits to see if there was something among them that may have, apparently, particularly offended his loyal employee, but he ultimately decided that, if there was something, it was probably ridiculous and he really didn't care enough to bother.
He did, however, feel he was offering an olive branch of sorts for whatever it may have been by getting into the spirit of his particular inclinations for random holidays by embracing one of his own.
"'The more man meditates upon good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large,' Apu-san ♥," he informed him sagely whenever he passed by with the broom. "'Ability will never catch up with the demand for it.' ♥."
Apu-san was thoroughly unimpressed.
