JGoB, Thursday afternoon
The bakery was fully decked out for fall though they hadn't quite yet embraced 'spooky season.' Spooky desserts were coming tomorrow according to a sign on the door. The pumpkin flavored baked goods outnumbered the rest by a large margin. There was pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cinnamon rolls, pumpkin halfmoons, pumpkin whoopie pies, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin cake, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin bars, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin donuts and probably a few other items Stark hadn't noticed. There was also a much smaller number of apple flavored treats.
Stark had been avoiding donuts for a couple of months now but the apple cider ones were tempting. He ordered one of those after a look around as if to reassuring himself there were no raccoons or holes lurking about. One apple cider donut for now and an assortment of pumpkin baked goods for later. Well, maybe some of the pumpkin things were also for now. The man behind the counter, after taking a good look at Stark's still-bruised (but improving!) face, had shaken his head a little and added an extra cookie to the box.
He found an empty table where he could look out the window and watch the door and took a seat. Maybe, somehow, eating baked goods would help him come up with an idea for tomorrow's superhero class. Would having superhero themed treats count as a class? Would making superhero themed cupcakes in class be cheating?
[Very open for alien interaction or baked goods! Manifesting a calmer workday worked last Thursday. Will it work again? We can only hope! I will def vanish for a bit around 10 AM EST to go get free books though.]
