Jo had ended up buying some new comics from the store yesterday and decided that today she would read them over ice cream, so she had ended up with a strawberry sundae and was now pouring over the newest-to-her issues of Beetleborgs and seeing what new details Art had added into the series and wondered what the likelihood was that some of these issues had been inspired by events that would eventually happen to her.

Treating herself to ice cream seemed to be one of the easiest ways to put off having to deal with the confusion that went along with being on the wrong coast (Niki, what in the hell had you given her?) and she just got a simple cone, French vanilla, and planned to mostly go take a walk on the beach, maybe do some sketching of this quaint little picturesque town, but her attention caught on what the other girl in the shop that day was reading.

"Are those comics?" she asked, coming over and tilting her head.

Jo glanced up from the page she was reading and nodded, showing the current page that was currently taking place in Hillhurst Mansion with Flabber. Art had been a bit inspired after they had dragged him from his office to help with the Shadowborg problem.

“They are,” she said excitedly, “Beetleborgs by Art Fortune, have you heard of them?”

Astrid shook her head a little, but she leaned in a little closer to get a good look at the art style.

"I don't really read comics," she admitted. "But I have a friend who makes them. Apparently, he went to New York to try to break into the business..."

She missed Paul sometimes; she hoped he was doing well.

"What's it about?" she asked, before licking her ice cream cone.

“It’s about a group of kids who morph into superheroes to fight their sworn enemies,” she said excitedly, “my brother and friend are also really into the comics, we got to meet the creator a while back,” well technically they had kidnapped him.
