The inventory that Liz had ordered last week had arrived so that was what she was working on today, at least she hadn’t needed to order a lot of extra stock so she only had a couple of boxes to unpack this time.

Most of the administration side of setting up the store had been finished as well and she had sent an update to Professor Bruttenholm to let him know where things stood with her progress. He hadn’t requested regular updates but she thought it was only fair that he knew since he was the financial backer for the store and Liz wouldn’t have been able to do this without his help.

Billy was getting restless hanging around waiting for the parts he had ordered to arrive. He had already been on the island longer than he had anticipated.

And so Billy was spending the day wandering the island, checking out a few of the other places around. Not that he as trying to get settled in or anything. He was still expecting to be back on his way as soon as he could get his boat fixed up. But he needed supplies and figured there was no point spending another day hiding below deck.

"Nice looking place you got here," he said as he walked in. "Didn't expect a place this small to have a photography shop."

“Thank you,” Liz smiled from where she had been putting away the last of the new stock, “I’ve only recently took over management so it’s been a work in progress,” she paused, “the store probably got more traffic back when I was student here but I think there’s been enough interest over the years to keep it going, there are a few stores like that here, I’m Liz by the way,” she added, “Liz Sherman,”

"Billy" he said simply with a slight grin. "It is an odd... err... interesting little place here. The island I mean. There seems to be a lot of variety here for a place so small and remote and empty."


Oh Billy, just wait till the class returns from their trip. You haven't seen odd yet!

“It’s definitely on the eccentric side,” Liz smiled, that was a bit of an understatement, “but on the whole I did like living here before and when the opportunity came to come back I took it,” she paused, “it’s certainly never dull living here,”

"Get many visitors?" Billy asked. "I kinda ended up here accidently. Not sure how common that is for people to just end up here then get back to where they were originally going."

“I think the only visitors we really get is for events like Parents Weekend and Graduation unless that’s changed in the last ten years since I graduated,” Liz considered, “even though I have heard that sometimes people do end up not being able to leave here and can’t return home for a while,”

OK that did not sit too well with Billy. "Well, hopefully that doesn't happen..." he muttered, not really liking the idea of being stuck somewhere outside his terms. "I just need to get my boat fixed up then I plan to be on my way. Already been here a week, it's taking forever to get anything shipped here."
