Why hadn't anyone mentioned to Eliot before that the island had an actual hot spring? Complete with a Japanese style bathing facility built up on top of it?
This was clearly a failure of the island's tourist board. Or . . . City Hall. The Parks & Recreation department, maybe.
Anyway, someone had failed. But Eliot had found it anyway, and sank into the bathing pool with a long, pleased sigh.
"Umber's tits, this hits the spot." He leaned back, sinking in up to his chin, and closed his eyes. "Now if only there was a bar and some snacks, it'd be just about perfect."
