Liz had a date. She was going to be going on an actual date and she had to pick somewhere for her and Prompto and she was not prepared for it in the slightest. She was pretty sure her last date had been back when she was a student … She wasn’t entirely sure but it had been a very long time ago and now she needed to pick a place for them to go and she was trying not to freak out at that .. what if she chose wrong? Did she choose somewhere casual or somewhere more fancy?

Also what was she even going to wear?

Then there was that part of her that felt guilty that she hadn’t told Prompto about her powers … he deserved to know the danger that he was in by being with her but she was scared of admitting that because most people reacted badly if they found out you’d killed nearly forty people (including your family) with your powers and then there was however many had been on that alien ship she’d destroyed back in her freshman year at Fandom but she tried not to think about that. It had only been a couple of months since Pittsburg she could still lose control again. She liked spending time with Prompto but what if he hated her for what she’d done? Liz hated herself for what she’d done she wouldn’t blame anyone else for thinking the same. Besides how could she even go about bringing up that topic in conversation?

To try and keep herself distracted Liz was now going going through all the photos that she had taken over the weekend. There were a lot and she was putting some of them on her photo memory board that she kept upstairs but she’d brought it down to work on today, the photo she’d taken of Prompto was going in the middle with her photos of Hellboy, Abe and Professor Bruttenholm. She’d also printed out that photo of them from instagram and she’d put it on there as well because it was a really nice photo of them.

Then there were all the photos she’d taken of the carnival. Maybe she should start a display wall of photos to highlight Fandom. She did have some photo albums to put them in - particularly all the photos she’d taken with her camera of Rain dressed up on halloween, they were going in the album that had the photos of Hellboy’s other cats in. She had quite a bit of photo organising to do so it was more than enough to keep her busy today.

Jon came in and nodded to Liz. "Hello. I'm back for more film." He caught sight of her board. "Good lord, I thought I was bad. Oh, I...I'm not judging! It makes sense you like photos. I just, um. Well, that's a lot."

He should probably stop digging.

"That is a really adorable cat." Focus on what he knew.

Liz smiled, “of course, the same film?” she asked as she moved to go and retrieve it, she glanced at the array of photos both on the board and on the table.

“I always go a bit overboard,” she said as she looked at them, I got my first camera when I was ten, it…I’ve always found photography to be comforting,”

Her smile widened, “she is,” Liz was not going to argue with that, “her name’s Rain,”

"Yes, please. Rain." He moved closer to take a look. "The costume is very cute. I'm surprised she lets you do it, though. Since, well...she's a cat."

Liz retrieved the right film and brought it back to the counter, "she was originally Hellboy's cat," and she indicated to a photo on the board of a very distinct looking red demon, "and he has a thing for cats so I think she's more agreeable than most when it comes to things like halloween costumes," because yes Hellboy did dress up his cats on halloween as well, actually sometimes it wasn't even halloween he just liked dressing them up.

"Hellboy?" Jon frowned. "That's...actually his name."

“I think the soldiers who initially found him thought it was funny and I guess it stuck?” Liz wasn’t sure of all the details of that mission just that they’d found him after Rasputin had opened the portal to his dimension.

"They sound like unpleasant people. Still, as long as he's happy with it. Anyone that loves cats deserves to be happy."

He was possibly biased.

"I think the only thing he doesn't like are the comic books, he always says they never get his eyes right," Liz smiled rather fondly, "he's actually rather sweet," he was only sweet to you Liz, anyone else - especially people he considered potential rivals ... not so much.

"He has comic books about him." Jon squinted at the photos. "I can't see his eyes very well in these."

Liz got out her phone to search for an image of one of the comics from her home and showed it to Jon, “I’m not sure about anywhere else but he’s a bit of a sensation back home because he keeps breaking out and he’s been sighted a few times, it’s inspired comics …much to the dismay of our PR director,”

Jon frowned. "Breaking out, that makes it sound like he's in prison."

"Oh he's not a prisoner, he works for the government ...me, Abe and Hellboy ... we were a team ... it's ..." she paused, "where I work or I worked rather ... we have to be secret, the public can't know about us so it's why we have Agent Manning to keep our cover," and why it had been Agent Manning who had strongly encouraged Liz to take the fall for the whole Pittsburg incident but Liz wasn't trying to think about that part of it.

"Ah, all right." Jon nodded. "And I take it he would rather go outside than worry about secrecy."

“I think he’d like it we were public but his father,” she indicated the older white haired man on her photo board, “doesn’t want the BPRD and the paranormal to be public knowledge so for the time being its still a secret organisation,” she explained.

"People tend to panic when faced with things that don't fit their worldview," Jon noted. "Although I suppose there's something to be said for ripping off the bandage, too." He gave her something that was almost a smile. "I'm afraid I'll always err on the side of knowledge, myself."
