Diaz & Ass.; Wednesday [11/10].
At the moment, Rosa was confronting two major goals for another day at the office:
1) Trying to decide on whether or not she wanted to take a job that would probably require her to do some deep undercover that might last more than a couple of weeks, but, after doing her lesson on fake identities, was incredibly appealing, because she did not get to just disappear into a new alias nearly enough these days.
and
2) Trolling people on the Crimson Portal forums online because it really didn't take much to get that fanbase all riled up about shit, and she felt she probably shouldn't take so much pleasure out of something that was like shooting fish into a barrel, but come on. It was fascinating, really, watching them scramble and flail even when dropping the smallest of bombs...

So, breakfast incoming, Rosa!
Also Miguel. He was going to drop into the chair next to the desk and yawn a lot. "Morning."

Not that she would complain, though, especially since an earl(ier) rising Miguel apparently meant a very nice reminder that there were more reasons beyond tight pants that she liked to keep him around.

So yeah, he was fine, just awake when he shouldn't be.
"How's all that?" He waved at Rosa's computer.

And how all of that was going didn't matter too much because Rosa was going to go ahead and take a break from it to reach for some of that food.
"Pretty good," she then offered, before said fod was completely swallowed, but, hey, close enough. "Managed to solve one case without even getting out of my chair, because some people are morons. Also looking at a pretty meaty undercover case. If I time it right, it might even mean getting to avoid some of the holiday bullshit we're about to get hit with around here."
Literally every day, she woke up wondering if the Christmas bleed into November might make its way to Fandom Island as well.

She wouldn't feel bad.
Okay, maybe a little bad.
"If I do take this one, we're talking deep. Couple weeks, at least..."

Not that Heather was very judgmental, but still.

Which almost made her want to put down the effort of being cagey about her location just to see what he'd think, but making him potentially sweat it out a little longer had way more appeal.
Then her chin quirked up toward him.
"Where are you and what's-his-face," yes, she knew his name, thank you, "scampering off to?"

Because heading east would be very wet and over quickly.

She chewed it over a little longer with some bacon.
"I don't think," she concluded, "that's something anyone really needs to find out."

"So if I see anything deep in Maryland, I'll run."
no subject
Was that just a freely offered compliment?
Well. He did have the coffee, so...

"Whereas I expect you to go as far into the deeps of New York as you can, and come out with the only damage being anyone who crosses you."
It was kind of awesome. Not that he never worried, but at least he knew he didn't have to.

"Not quite," she told him. "But I will say all those years at Catholic school might finally pay off. And don't be surprised if I make you watch a few Whoopi Goldberg movies with me in the next few days."
All for the sake of research, of course.
And turning a two-second sight gag into a much bigger thing.
