Atlas Gym; Saturday [11/13].
Oh, man, was Gladio glad to finally be out of that wild apartment with the nerdy kid who barely talked and the weird guy who claimed to be, of all people, Ignis Scientia! Like, uhhhhh, excuse you, sir, but Ignis Scientia was just a kid Gladio's age, and everyone knew that he pretty much never left Prince Noctis's side, but you expected Gladio to believe that you were just some old stuffy man? Well, the stuffy part, from what he knew about the prince's caretaker, that tracked, but still! Ridiculous. Like, did he even know who he was talking to? Gladio was going to be Shield one day, he was gonna know who Ignis was, geez.
And, well, because he was going to be Shield one day, he knew he couldn't just slack off like that other kid, even if he was somewhere new, so, the moment saw that there was a gym in this weird little town, he was immediately going to come in and scope it out and try and convince the people working there that he knew what he was doing and that being on some new island was no excuse to skip leg day.
And he wasn't planning on leaving until they let him, so, well...guess they were letting the nine year old hit the gym after all.
"Yes!" Gladio clapped his hands in victory, grinning proudly at the staff. "Thanks! Trust me, I really appreciate this!"
And, with a pump of his fist and a skip to his step, he went to go get his sweat on. He was going to be the strongest Shield of the King that Lucis had ever seen!
[[ come work out with the literal child, everyone! it's open! ]]

dozenrounds of coffee later Goose had a lot of energy to spare so he wound up at the gym because he hadn’t been on a run yet.“It’s okay I was created to be a soldier, I know what I’m doing,” he assured the staff, even though 8 year old Goose was not normally hyped up on so much coffee and sugar as well, so this could be interesting.
He saw there was another kid training, he watched curiously. The only other kids he saw training were the rest of the Supertroopers at Wolf Den and they usually didn’t like him training with them cause he was the youngest and smallest of them, so he hung back and watched for a bit instead.

And after he'd finished the reps and considered going into some squats (never skip leg day!), he noticed the other kid who'd come in hadn't even started anything.
"What?" Gladio asked, lifting his chin a little. "Are you actually doing anything, or are you just here to watch?"
Like, he knew he was probably good and everything, because he trained a lot, but it was kind of weird, dude.

“Are you another Supertrooper?” he asked, tilting his head at Gladio, “I didn’t think there were any others outside of Wolf Den,”
The only other kids he ever saw training were the ones in the Supertrooper program. He didn’t quite understand the concept that there was a whole other world outside Wolf Den.

He figured anyone would know what that meant.
"What's a Supertrooper? I've never heard of those before."
Some kind of club, maybe? Nothing official. He knew the workings of the Crownguard inside and out. It was his job (or, well, it would be his job) to know that.
Honestly, if you asked him, 'Supertrooper' sounded like some real Nif stuff, and so he was eyeing the other kid with a more critical eye now.

“I’m a super soldier or I was created to be, I’m still completing my programming,” he told him. “We’re going to be a new army of soldiers for Earth,”
Wolf Den was still a viable program that Earths politicians hadn’t screwed up at this point so he wasn’t aware of any potential judgement or issues being what he was would create.

"Earth?" he asked, doubtfully, because that at least, was made up, and so maybe everything else was, too, although why would anyone want to make stuff up that made them sound like a Nif? "I've never heard of that before. Amicitia is my name, my family name. We've been Shields to the King of Lucis for generations."
So, of course, coming up from a squat, he had to lift his chin partiuclarly high before squating back down again.
"I'm gonna be Shield to the King for Prince Noctis, too."
It was the greatest honor in the world, and he was stoked to be able to carry on the family tradition.
Even if he kind of thought Prince Noctis was...
...meh.

“Earth’s where I’m from, or at least it’s where Wolf Den is …and that’s where I live,” Goose explained because technically he had been created on Earth, “it’s part of the League of Planets, we recently joined them a number of years back,” he turned his attention to the punching bag, because that was why he was at the gym after all and he gave it a few quick and solid punches.
