Rey was hard at work, but she was multitasking as she spent a good amount of her shift on a call with Leia. She was getting called home for missions more often, that was great and she was getting used to more frequent calls like that, but the difference was that this time Leia had specifically asked her to bring Silver along to help on this one.

Which meant that the rest of her shift was then spent working while pre-having that conversation with him in her head until she saw him later.

Anakin arrived some time in the afternoon carrying two pies. "Please help."

"Godly," Rey laughed, coming over to take them. "This isn't as bad as I thought."

"Oh, you haven't opened them," Anakin said. "There's like five different kinds inside each."

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, so John and I won't have to fight over them," she joked, setting them down on her workstation. "Thank you."

[sith_happened]

"You're welcome," Anakin said, smiling, "and there's more at home when you run out."

[thatwaslucky]

"That might take a bit," Rey admitted.

[sith_happened]

"Our freezer is almost entirely pie-based," Anakin admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"You might want to put a limit on those next year," she advised.

[sith_happened]

"Rory has them all labeled by date, flavor, and appropriate time to eat it," Anakin said. "So many are for 'while watching cheesy holiday movies.'"

[thatwaslucky]

"I suppose we could work those in." They'd seen worse! "Will these keep a bit? I'm not sure I'll be here much this week."

"As long as you put them in the fridge, you'll be all right," Anakin said. "Where are you heading?"

"Home, for a mission," Rey said. "I don't expect it to be too long but they're usually a few days."

[sith_happened]

"Be careful anyway," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Always," she said. "It sounds pretty simple anyway."

It would not be.

"Simple is good," Anakin agreed with a smile.

At least until it turned complicated...

[thatwaslucky]

"It is. I wouldn't mind something a little bigger, but it's nice to not risk your safety once in a while," she said lightly.

[sith_happened]

"Especially after all of the pie."

Move on from the pie, Anakin.

[thatwaslucky]

"We will be very far away from the pie," Rey said.

[sith_happened]

"It makes good travel food?"

Anakin.

[thatwaslucky]

"We need to move on from pie," Rey said simply.

[sith_happened]

"Probably," Anakin agreed. "How was your week?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Quiet," Rey said. "Everyone leaves over the week and John and I do nothing for the holiday."

[sith_happened]

Anakin, don't say one more damn word about pie.

"Sounds kind of nice. My week was very loud."

[thatwaslucky]

"It did sound like a lot of people," she agreed.

[sith_happened]

"And when the kids get excited, they get very screechy," Anakin said.
