There were no turkeys this week. Eliot had checked.

And rechecked.

And then checked one more time, just to be sure.

Then, having clearly done plenty of work, what with all that checking, he settled down on the sales counter with a sigh and wondered what his life would be like right now if he'd just been an ordinary student at Brakebills. He'd probably be having to do an actual thesis, for one thing.
