Summer had already been out and about and taught a whole-ass class before coming in to do her managerial shit at the T&C that day, so she knew about the horses, so she wasn't at all surprised to see that they'd been rampaging through the produce department, which she was fine with. She freaking loved the tiny horses, and if they were fed and happy, then they were pretty much just cute and she could admire them being all cute and horsey and shit.

Apu, naturally, did not feel that way, and Summer would totally love to help him out (TEAMWORK, GUYS, REMEMBER?), but, uh, her skills and talents in this arena were clearly in just finishing up all this computer work and accounting and things for the store? And his were in cleanup, sooo....divide and conquer, right?

Now excuse her while she took a very important break to think of ways to set up the best Instagram shots to feature festively framed tiny little horses.

It wasn't an entirely long way to get from his apartment to the shop. But there were... distractions along the way that morning. Namely about half a dozen tiny white horses that followed him around the instant he left the apartment building.

And acting much like cats seemingly trying to trip someone on purpose, they were all around his feet so he was nearly tripping over them every other step he took.

"No, no! Stay outside... no don't..." Billy sighed as he tried to walk into the shop, only to have the horses follow him in. "Hey, I can't help it! They won't stop following me!" he said in reply to the very obvious glare from Apu.

"We're already beset with them anyway," Summer pointed out, rolling her eyes at Apu's reaction. "What's a few more at this point?"

Her wry expression shifted his way. "How's it going, Billy? Hopefully you didn't come in for carrots and turnips, they've cleaned us all out."

"No, no turnips or carrots, thankfully" he said as he pushed past the horses and walked farther into the store. "Actually came to get a few general supplies and to also possibly take you up on that 'help out the new people in town' offer of yours" he said with a hopeful smile.

"Ooo~oooh!" Summer's attention was grabbed, her eyes brightened. "Yes, please!"

She leaned forward on the counter, laptop pushed aside, expression eager.

"What'cha got for me, Billy? Better make it good, make it worth my time."

"Was working over at the surf shop the other day, trying to get everything in order and figure out what the hell I am supposed to do with it during the winter" Billy said with a slight shake of his head. "Anyways, I was cleaning out the back room. And, well... it's really weird." He looked at Summer and then asked the million dollar question. "You wouldn't happen to know what a Hollo-Suite is would you?"

Summer's brows lifted.

"You found a Holo-Suite?" she asked. "In the surf shop?"

So, the actual answer to your question, Billy, was probably yes, she did.

"Well, there's a small room at the back of the shop with some weird looking control panels and what not that says Holo-Suite. So... I'm assuming, yes?"

Billy gave her a questioning look. "Why? What is it anyways?"

"I mean," said Summer, "pretty much what it says on the box. A suite for holographic simulations, basically, kind of like the danger shop at the school, but probably not as all-encompasing or whatever."

"So its'.... like the thing from Star Trek?" Billy asked, having no idea what the danger shop was. "An augmented, virtual reality... thing?"

"Maybe?" Summer shrugged, because she wasn't a nerd, thaaanks. "But, yeah, virtual reality. Just without the dumb goggles and slightly fewer chances of running into the walls."
