The Perk - Friday Morning

Goose had been completely oblivious to any mistletoe so far this morning and had been for his usual morning run and then decided to stop by the Perk for a coffee and had immediately started being followed by mistletoe.

The plus side was he seemed to have finally gotten rid of all that glitter as he stood awkwardly in front of the barista while the mistletoe hung in front of them.

Goose knew enough about what was supposed to happen with mistletoe but well he was still a socially awkward Supertrooper when it came to it and was staring at the Barista with a very much a deer in the headlights expression.

Sorry to anyone who wanted coffee right now, it was going to take Goose a while.

Miguel came in, waited for a moment, and watched the standoff.

"If I kiss one of you, can I get my coffee?" he asked. He wasn't picky.

The Barista chose that moment to suddenly make herself busy with the coffee and also she was maybe a bit curious to see what would happen if she stepped away.

Goose blinked and stared at Miguel, “um…” he said very eloquently. “hi?” he tried, very smooth Goose.

"Hi," Miguel said, amused. "Sorry, you looked like you were just going to keep staring at each other forever."

Knowing Goose, it most likely would have kept going forever, “the mistletoe is new,” he admitted rather sheepishly, “I …don’t have much experience with it,”

That part was very obvious Goose.

"It just wants people to kiss, then it'll leave you alone," Miguel said. "Or you can rip it apart if you'd rather."

“Oh,” Goose blinked, “I think that’s new I don’t remember the mistletoe from when I was a student… “

Then again he had been extremely anti social then and likely had just been oblivious to it.

"Huh. I thought it had been around for ages." Miguel shrugged. "It's annoying, but at least it's not an invasion."

“It’s possible they have been, I wasn’t very social back then … well I graduated last year but time moved differently for me, I was in the graduating class of 2014,” he offered.

He paused, “I had to recently fight off an invasion back home so I think I’ve had my fill of fires and explosions,” not to mention all of his cooking misadventures where he had only just figured out how not to set the oven on fire.

"Yeah, I can see that'd be a deterrent," Miguel said. "You know we're sure to get a few here though, right?"

“I’m fully expecting something to happen next week,” Goose admitted, “it always seemed to be during exam week when I was a student,”

"Then or next month," Miguel agreed. "So you do know what you're in for."
