Fix and Clean- Friday Morning- ACTUALLY Friday
Dwight was feeling better than he had the other day. Though there was still a dull ache and throbbing at the back of his skull from four rounds of shots…or had it been five… Well in any case, at least a round or maybe two too many. But he had gone to work with far worse before so he was hoping to be able to get back to that project he and Amaya had been working on.
In the shop, he began to take stock of where he stood and what all still needed to be done to get the first display counter to a more finished and finalized state. There was still some sanding to do before he could get to the finer details of any engraving work Amaya might want. And actually, come to think of it, he should probably get her thoughts on how things looked so far before getting too much into it. They had so far been discussing things pretty remotely, so it was probably a good idea to get here over to the shop at some point to have a look for herself. Dwight figured there was time for that and he could get a little more work done on things before he needed to bother her again.
A whimper and yelp from the other side of the shop pulled Dwight out of his fog as he filled his cup with freshly made coffee. He looked at a rather pathetic-looking pup standing at the door of the shop, yapping at the thick layer of goo that was already forming on the ground. Marshmallow snow. That was definitely a new one.
“Sorry, Snoopy,” he said as he knelt down and rubbed the pup’s head apologetically. “There’s no way I am taking you out into that. I will be giving you a bath for the next three hours trying to get all that out of your fur! We’ll go for a walk as soon as it clears up, ok boy?”
Dwight sure hoped this was another one of those one-a-day Christmassy things the island decided to throw at them today and nothing more. With a slight sigh, he stood and went back to the workbench to try and get something productive done that day.
