The Perk, Friday Afternoon (Monday)

The staff of the Perk were used to shenanigans. Weird lights? New piece of island? Pfft. The only person who was even a little taken aback was the newbie, and they had already dealt with advent this year.

No, the baristas made their coffee, tables were cleaned, and the Perk's seats were free and cosy to anyone looking to read the paper just obviously enough to invite conversation. Come on, get it while it's hot!

[[ feel free to ping in and use this for all your perk needs. ]]

Jon was stopping in and coming up to the counter fast enough to stop the barista making his tea and order a large mocha. Caffeine and sugar were called for; even if his repeated Fridays hadn't been difficult (or even notably different from his usual days), he didn't trust this thing.

Right.

So she wasn't actually aging a year for every time this day repeated, but you know what, it was starting to make Steph feel kind of old anyway.

She'd seriously thought about not coming into the Perk at all, except she really did want coffee and a chance to... essentially rewrite the entire draft of this campaign setting she was working on because no matter how much progress she made on it with each iteration of this day, she had to write it up all over again in the morning. With all the mental revisions she'd made overnight because she'd half memorized it all by now, granted, but it was still a hassle.

Hence the feeling old.

Being around people who could do the freaky sci-fi shit, no big deal, she could handle that. Actually doing the freaky sci-fi shit herself, like for real and not as a stage manager or a GM? Not really her wheelhouse, so until this got resolved she was just going to sit here in the Perk, re-flesh out this fantasy setting like a hapless minor god who was creating a new world on an Etch-a-Sketch that someone else kept shaking, and have her coffee. Just regular brewed coffee this time; her attempts to convince the barista to add booze to it had been a critical fail because regulations and things. (It occurred to her that if she'd been back in Haven Springs, before... everything, Gabe would have helped her pull it off. But she was not going to risk another time loop of that train of thought so she was hopping off of it right now.)

Also, she was going to have a birthday cake pop this time, because why the hell not, damn it.

"So, uh," Rosa said as she ordered her coffee. "Maybe this is just me, but I could have sworn there wasn't a weird research station looking thing sticking off the island, yesterday?"

The barista gave her a pitying look, and 10% off her order.

Liz had spent the morning crying on and off and being generally miserable in her room.

She decided to venture out later that day and get her usual coffee. She took a seat and stared blankly out the window, tears still forming in her eyes.
