The place is party-dark, with thumping bass and visible bleed from the laser lights bouncing off the disco ball. It is 100% clear from the street that there is a party happening inside right now.

“You know, this might be the most like home I’ve felt since we got here,” Margo said dryly, sipping from her drink as she eyed the makeshift dance floor.

She felt her glittery black dress communicated ‘we’re in a fucking time loop but I’m still up for a party’ well enough.

"It does feel like the cottage in here, doesn't it." Eliot actually managed a small smile at that. "We'll see if Fandom can appreciate it."

He hadn't tried to become a Champagne King of Fillory for no reason, okay?

"Margo." Jon nodded hello. He looked fairly well off today, and was hoping that wouldn't work against him in her eyes. "I take it Eliot's informed you of the time loop, whether you heard radio or not."

“Only after he let my pizza burn down into a smoldering heap of crappy cheese and week-old tomatoes,” Margo grumbled, crossing her arms. She lifted her chin at Jon. “And you’re still alive, I guess.”

Jon winced. "I reminded you on radio, but I'm guessing you didn't hear it before then. Sorry about that; I didn't want to phone too early." He shrugged. "So, unless Eliot's already told you, it's not a 'horomancer with family issues' and apparently what we need to do is kill three people simultaneously to break out of it."

He smiled ruefully. "And yes, I'm still alive. So are several people who've actually died on earlier loops, but I've mostly spent the time at home rather than running out where there are people with guns."

He'd do that later.

"You haven't died yet, either," he said, trying for reassuring.

This was not a healthy coping mechanism at all and Liz was vaguely aware of that … she also didn’t really care and was feeling that miserable that drinking sounded like a viable option.

She showed up and she had definitely seen better days but the plan was to drink to try and forget everything so maybe by the end of the evening she’d actually feel something?

“It’s been a rough few days,” she admitted quietly but she hadn’t burst into tears yet so that was something at least.

Lucifer knew there was a big thing going on, but as no one had tried to murder or brainwash either of his partners, he'd given up on caring about it fairly quickly.

"Now this is what I like to call showing initiative," he said brightly, turning up at the Magic Box's doorstep in a fine navy three-piece suit and a smirk.

"But of course," Eliot said. "One can only spend so much of one's time in a loop attempting to solve the loop. Sometimes you need to . . . refocus, so you can approach the problem from another direction."

Or, you know, get so blitzed you forget the problem exists for five seconds.

"As many items as possible," Eliot said. "This is all a bit last minute, so I didn't have a chance to come up with a signature cocktail for the day."

Jon wasn't sure he was the party type, but he was the "cling to friends when things are going strange (unless you're haring off on your own to stop them with a half-baked plan)" type, so he was here.

A little overwhelmed by the music and lights, but here.

"Jon!" Eliot greeted. "Any news from the wars?"

"Nothing new since radio," Jon answered, going over to him. "Apparently we need to kill three specific people at once to break out of the loop, though." He might try to help with that later, but he wouldn't mention that because he was bad at communication in case Eliot worried.

"You realise that we don't know when this loop will end, and things today might be permanent?" he did feel obliged to say.

"Well, then we'll have hangovers. I've dealt with worse." Eliot flicked a hand dismissively. "And killing people is somehow both much easier and much harder than it ought to be. Who knows when anyone will manage to accomplish that?"

He would not be rushing in to do it. He'd already killed enough people in his day, thank you.

Drinks, food, other mood altering items

Eliot's turned the check out counter into his personal bar. If you don't come ask him for something, he's going to have to drink all that booze himself.

Come and save his liver, would you?

Oh, also, there's plenty of snacks: gourmet potato chips, festive candied nuts and dates, charcuterie. . . . If it's a finger food on the fancy side, it's probably on one of the tables scattered around.

For the other items. . . . Inquire with the bartender on the downlow. He's got the read of this town: the publicly acceptable vices are food and booze, so those are the ones on display.

Liz was going to park herself at the counter/bar and basically stay there for the rest of the night and drink as much as much as she could.

Even then that probably wasn’t going to stop her.

Dance floor

Eliot had put a small Thibadeau's Planar Compression on the shop, so it's bigger than it'd normally be, allowing for a good sized dance space. The music is all pretty typical contemporary electronica -- nothing you'd like to just sit and listen to, probably, but atmospheric and extremely danceable.
