The Perk - Saturday Morning
The last couple of days had been a lot and Liz was relieved that some of the burden had been lifted, that she had been able to admit that that she was struggling, admittedly that had been kind of obvious after she had passed out. She had also finally been able to get more than an hour of sleep two nights in a row … she was still tired but she was starting to feel slightly more alert than she had been in the past couple of weeks.
She was mostly embarrassed that she had let it get to the point that she had, she had never passed out from exhaustion before -even though she had also never had to deal with the trauma from experiencing and remembering a time loop before either.
She had decided to go to the perk and try and catch up on the admin work she was supposed to have done on Thursday before … everything had happened but she hadn’t wanted to work at the store or at her apartment so she decided to try a change of scenery and bring her laptop with her to the Perk.
Another thing she had decided to try was instead of her normal coffee, she opted for a tea instead so she wasn’t drinking as much caffeine at least until she could settle back into a normal sleep routine.

Gods, this whole thing was turning him into mess! And though part of him wondered if she'd rather just be left alone, a bigger part of him knew he'd just spent the rest of the day feeling guilty about it if he didn't go talk to her, so he walked in and headed over.
"Liz, hey! So there you are!"
Did he sound like he'd been worried? Gods, he hoped he didn't sound like he'd been too worried, but he definitely probably sounded like he'd been worried...
[[ sp VERY likely, but I meaaaaaan.....]]

“Hi,” she said softly, “I thought I’d catch up on some work …since ..well…” she bit her lip, “not because I couldn’t sleep,” she added quickly, even though she knew she still didn’t look brilliant and it was likely going to take a while to recover. “I …I managed to get some sleep last night…”
“I’m sorry if I worried you though,” she said quietly, “and I’m sorry about Thursday,”
[no worries at all! :)]

"No!" he said, quickly, maybe a little desperately. "Don't be! You have nothing to feel sorry for. I'm just glad that...that I could help.."
And when that came out, it was almost a whimper, as he looked at her with his brow furrowed, wishing he could do more....
"Did you..." he started, stopping himself with a frown. "Would you, um....should I just...?"
He wanted to ask if she wanted to just be left alone, if she would rather just do her work, but he couldn't actually say the words, so he just kind of half-heartedly hitched a thumb toward the door to signal the potential exit that he really, really didn't want to make, but that wasn't his decision, especially if staying just wound up making it worse for her.

There was a pause as she looked at him, “I …” she hesitated, “I talked to Doctor Lecter yesterday,” she told him.

And then he scooted the chair a little closer.
"Yeah?" he asked. "How'd it go?"
Ugh. What a dumb question. Obviously it had gone well if she'd managed to get some sleep last night...But instead of beating himself up too much over it, he mostly just found himself looking at her hopefully to confirm as much.

since the threads still being played out,” Liz told him softly, “we’re going to try a few different things,” she hesitated “but he wants me to try taking medication for my anxiety, to see if that will help,”no subject

"Wanna maybe do something tonight?" he offered. "We can load up on turkey sandwiches, binge watch the most boring documentaries we can find."
His grin went a little crooked.
"I could record Ignis reciting the phone book; that could put anyone to sleep..."

“I’d…I’d like that,” she said softly with a nod, “I’d like that a lot, it would be nice, to spend the evening together,”

Yet also one of the things he utterly failed at in his last relationship!
Sure, sure, it was mostly due to circumstances well beyond his control, but still! Progress!
Of course, Prompto wasn't going to say any of that. But what he was going to do was grin back over at her, maybe with a small preemptive smattering of a blush, and squeeze her hand.
"Yeah, right," he said, a little teasing, a little shy, "almost as if I just really like you, or something."

She let out a nervous laugh, “I really like you as well,” she said rather shyly, biting her lip as she looked at him.
no subject
"Well," he stated, "that's good to hear, because, otherwise? This next part is going to get really awkward."
Because there was no way he could sit there and have her look at him like that and not feel compelled to lean over to kiss her.
no subject
So she leaned into the kiss and happily returned it.

"Maybe," he said, "I should let you get back to your work..."
He...didn't sound too terribly concerned about her getting back to her work, really.
no subject
“I … I don’t mind,” she assured him, “it can wait, I caught up on most of it already,” she told him shyly.
no subject
He could just go right back to that whole kissing thing again, then.

It had been a long while since she had felt this calm and content.
