It was supposed to snow again tomorrow so the troopers were doing their best to prepare the outside of the office so nobody slipped and fell when it really started going. However, Diego noticed that something was wrong immediately when he stepped on the sidewalk outside the station.

"This isn't salt," Diego said. He stuck a finger in the bag and then put it in his mouth. "This is sugar, dumbass."

Why did they even have a bag of sugar that big lying around anyway?

Was Steve in a hilariously large puffy jacket as he came into the station? Yes. Would he be wearing it through May? Very likely.

"Hey, Diego," he said, giving him a wave.

“You look like a big doofus.” Just so Steve was aware.

"I look warm," Steve said.

And also like a big doofus.

“It’s not that bad.” It was that bad, but he was trying to be all manly about it. “Also you might want to wipe off your shoes before you start sticking to the floor.”

"Why am I going to stick to the floor?" Steve asked, staring at it.

“One of these dumbasses put sugar outside instead of salt,” Diego said. “But I’m not sure which dumbass it was.”

Steve gave the Troopers an assessing glare, eyes narrowed. "Ralph," he decided based on nothing.

“What makes you think it was him?” Diego asked. Not that he doubted Steve, he just wanted to learn dumbass detection skills.

"Well, he's standing in the back when normally he's closer to the front," Steve said, "and he keeps shifting his weight back and forth. Classic sign of being guilty."

Or needing to pee but Steve was 60 percent sure their suits fixed that for them.

"Huh." Diego had just thought he had to pee. "Well, there's no use going out there to pick up all the sugar so I guess we're going to find out if it does anything against ice."
