The Photo Hut - Thursday
Liz had been doing somewhat better since the weekend. She hadn’t even spent the entire time moping in her apartment and she had also managed to get some sleep. She hadn’t had any more nightmares either so she considered that to be good progress as she headed downstairs to open up the store for the day.
Today she planned to unpack some boxes and respond to emails when she came downstairs, only she had been rather surprised to find that Hellboy had randomly appeared downstairs as well and was equally confused as to what he was doing in Fandom.
“Pops is going to be so mad about this,” he grumbled as he drew Liz into a hug, regardless of why he was there he was always happy to see her, “I didn’t even break out this time!”

"Hey," she said, trying to focus on him but she was really distracted for some reason.

But the weird funk that seemed to have passed over Prompto since he walked in (was it because of the chocobos? This sadness felt so much deeper than just not being able to take home a small flock of chocochicks, but, at the same time...that was pretty tragic) seemed to stick, and hard, as he just sort of looked down, his brow knitted with a pensive frown, trying to figure out just why he felt so devestated. He was back. He had been looking forward to seeing Liz again all week. So what was the problem?
He swallowed down the odd lump in his throat before asking, quietly, unable to look at her right now. "How was your morning?"

“it’s been okay,” she said softly, looking straight at him, despite how he didn’t seem to be able to meet her gaze, “its …I …this might sound weird but I thought Hellboy was here,”
no subject
"What? Like...over there?" he asked, wondering how he would even know to guess that.

Why was this happening now?

And the day had started out so well! There had been chocochicks! And now!
"Ohgod," he moaned desperately, feeling like he should do something more, but he could only wallow in the misery of this unfortunate turn of events. "It's actually happening now, isn't it?"

Hopefully.
She would feel really bad about the yelling later.

"You know," he said, clearly thinking himself incredibly clever for this one, "you don't need to prove to me that you're hot, Liz. I already know."
Totally appropriate time for that, Prompto, thank you.

“Hey there, where did you come from?” she said as she brought him up so she could show him to Prompto.

So he winced, grimacing as he murmured out an apology. "Sorry," he said, cringing so hard he barely seemed to even notice the random cat. "I just...thought maybe..."
Maybe what, Prompto? That humor and being the funny guy solved everything? Even briefly staring down all the possibilities that things could have gone horribly wrong just a few moments ago?
no subject
“I …I think it’s happening again! You need to run!”
So it might have been a good thing Prompto was dressed to leave in a hurry?

"It's okay, Liz," he said. "Just hold it, right there, for just one minute."
Why did he suddenly feel the need to have her hold it? Hold her uncontrollable flames? Did now just suddenly seem like a good opportunity to maybe convince her to try and control it, even if for just a little bit? Was that even how any of this worked?
But maybe? She could at least try? He felt ridiculously hopeful about this all of a sudden.

"Okay, great," Prompto said, more serious than just the relief he would have thought he felt, but his concentation was on getting his camera ready, "now I'm going to get a shot of this."
Which, to be fair, was actually not all that random or weird for him to do.

She chirped and ruffled her feathers.
Well it had been a good thing Prompto’s lesson had been on wildlife photography?

"Damn it," he muttered, lowering his head against the swing of distressed misery that seemed to sweep over him. "That was supposed to be a good shot of you, but now you're a bird..."
Things had been pretty jumbled up to this point, sure, but in his experience, sometimes, it was usually in the middle of some odd chaos that someone turned into an animal and then were stuck like that for several days, so if this had all just been leading up to her being a bird all weekend...
Well, could you blame him for being a little bummed about it?

“What just happened?” she yelled frantically.

"Hey," he said, feeling suddenly very smooth, "don't worry about it. Whatever this is going on right now, I've got you, okay?"
no subject
Also the change in moods was really not helping here.
no subject
(Well, unless you were Noctis, but anyway)...
And Prompto found that all he could do at this point? Was laugh.
This was insane. This was ridiculous. Why was he laughing?

“This is definitely a strange day,” she said softly.
