The Perk- Thursday morning

Kitty had just wanted to get out of her office at Caritas for a while when doing paperwork, so she'd brought some of it to the Perk to get it all done. Easy. She got a drink and a seat at a table by the window and settled in.

It was just that for the moment she was like fourteen. Totes normal.

You know what Beth hadn't had in a very long time? A nice cup of coffee. From Earth.

(She didn't care what anyone said; the stuff they had in space was garbage coffee).

So now that she was planetside again and in that cute little town where her daughter was living, she happily found the coffee shop and get in line to order up a drink, trying to decide what to even get, after it had been so long.

She supposed she should probably go find Summer, and everything, but, well, daughters were infininate (apparently), but coffee? Earth coffee??

Yeah, Summer could wait.

Which was quite a way for Summer to find herself not actually her mom, but back to herself, with Kitty swinging a sword, presumably at her, she didn't know, she had just been trying to get some coffee and then she was her mom and now this.

And, really, the only appropriate response to that was to sort of gasp in shock as she expected to just suddenly be sliced down by the boss of her that didn't even usually carry around a sword!

(Not that Summer had noticed, anyway).

Steve had absolutely left the house wearing a shirt today, but it kept disappearing! Hopefully the Perk didn't have a "no shirt, no shoes, no service" policy?

"I need two really, really big coffees, please," he said, trying not to look freezing. Being shirtless in January was a Choice.

You'd swung a sword out of nowhere, Kitty! A terrified gasp was a surprisngly legitimate response to that!

The sudden blaring alarm going off somewhere, as several screens in the vicinity flashed red with a warning sign, however, was not.

"Warning! Warning!," a pleasantly mechanic voice called out. "NX-5 corporate sponsor detected! Cannot penetrate Wranglers! Built too tough!"

"Ohmygod," said Summer, rolling her eyes and letting out a frustrated sigh. "We get it. The NX-5's weakness if being a capitalist shill, and Kitty," she gestured a hand, "is totally hot without a shirt, but I'm pretty sure, like, a coffee shop isn't really an appropriate place for either of those facts to be made clear."

Wanda had just come in for a coffee but somehow that translated to her accidentally throwing a ball of red whispy energy when she walked in, sending a jar of Splenda packets flying. "Whoops."

Yeah, this...this is why she'd be going to the bar tonight.

She had no idea what she meant by that, but it seemed like a polite way to let someone down gently.

Why not stop by the Perk and finish the book she was reading? Lucille had spent too much time at home lately, and a cup of tea surrounded by people might be what she needed.

She sat down at a table, now and then looking up from the page and staring out thought the window, lost in thought.
