The Perk, Tuesday afternoon

Steve was perusing the corkboard at the Perk as he waited for his order to be finished--he felt that staring at the baristas while they made his drink was creepy--when an ad caught his eye:



He immediately took a photo of it and texted it to the Hawaii 5-0 group chat. New plans! he added, then put his phone in his pocket and waited for everyone to start texting him back.

But he had to know that was gonna happen, right?

But fame, Danno, Steve wrote back, then added a few "🥺🥺🥺" to be an asshole.

The '...' appeared, disappeared, reappeared multiple times as Danny wrote out several rants about that before just going with: I hate you so much.

No you don't, Steve wrote.

Speak for yourself, brah, Kono chimed in, sending a selfie of herself with her chin her her hand like she was leaning in close to listen with Chin looking deeply amused in the background.

Danny didn't respond because he, instead, made his way to the coffee shop to give Steve an unimpressed look.

GTG Danno's here Steve sent, then gave Danny a smile. "Hey! Want to hunt Bigfoot?"

"I'm gonna go with no," Danny replied. "Because I'd say he's not real, but around here..."

"He's probably teaching car repair up at the school?" Steve finished teasingly.

[hatesparadise]

"I hate that I can't even refute that," Danny said with a sigh.

Steve laughed. "Need a coffee?"

[hatesparadise]

"If you didn't just call me here because you 'forgot your wallet', sure."

He was onto you, Steve.

"Would I do that?"

Frequently.

"Quite often, yeah." Steve, don't even front.

Steve's cheeks went a little red. "Well, sometimes I have to choose between knives and wallet."

And you choose knives?

"...please tell me you're not carrying a knife right now." Oh, Danny. You should know better than that.

[grenadesandohana]

"I'm not carrying a knife right now."

He had three.

Danny's expression was pretty damn suspicious at that. "Uh huh."

Steve grinned sunnily in reply. "So. Coffee?"

[hatesparadise]

"Coffee," Danny agreed, nodding over at the barista to get his usual order started.

"How's your day been so far?" Steve asked, leaning against a nearby table.

[hatesparadise]

"Well, I haven't been kidnapped by any sort of Sasquatch yet," Danny said, offering a smile to the barista as his coffee was handed over. "But the day's still young."

"Is this where you call me Sasquatch?" Steve asked, grinning.

[hatesparadise]

"Nah," Danny said with a much more amused grin aimed at Steve this time. "You're more of a giraffe."

[grenadesandohana]

"Oh, thank you," Steve said. "I think."

"You're welcome," Danny replied. "Not hairy enough for a sasquatch."
