The Photo Hut - Thursday

Liz found that when she came downstairs to open the store that morning that she actually didn’t have that much work to do for a change, which was a good thing since she had ended up having a late night at the bar last night and even though she didn’t drink that many shots it had been a while since she had done that.

All she had to do today was respond to few emails and she had to check the inventory and see if anything needed to be ordered in but that was it as far as general work tasks.

She decided once that was done to work on the social media accounts for the Photo Hut since it had been a while since they were last updated and she found it to be a nice change of pace after having a busy couple of weeks catching up with work.

Dealing with fashion photography for his class earlier had made Prompto feel a little extra thoughtful and maybe a bit fancy with the lunch that he brought in that day...'salmon-in-a-suit' rice balls, because...get it? Fancy? Suit? Hilarious. And he was grinning as he swept into the shop to deliver said lunch (and the company that went along with it), looking around the place for a moment before he headed over to Liz.

"Oh, man," he said, "swamped as always! I hope you're not drowning in customers so much that you can't take a break for some lunch!"

"A lunch break sounds perfect," Liz let out a laugh as she put down her phone and smiled up at Prompto, “and I can definitely stop work for a bit," she added, "I’m sure the customers will be understanding if I take some time away for a break,”

She wasn't sure what would actually happen if a customer did decide to come into the store during said break but she'd deal with that if such a thing were to ever happen.

"We could always go get Rain," Prompto suggested. "Bring her down, get her to cover for you. I mean, I know I would totally buy camera equipment from a cat...."

Prompto would buy literally anything from a cat if it was trying to sell him something, though.

He grinned back at Liz for a moment, though, before leaning in to deliver that ubiquious greeting kiss, setting the bags of food on the counter for now as he asked, "Good week?"

You know, the whole...two days of it he wasn't around for, anyway.

“I’m sure Rain would love to cover to me,” Liz grinned, “I’m pretty sure she thinks she already works at the store with the amount of times I have her down here,”

She paused, “it’s actually been pretty good, I caught up on the work I missed from the last couple of weeks and I went to Caritas last night,”

She had been to Caritas a couple of times but not on Wednesday since she knew that tended to be really busy. She thought she’d done pretty well considering everything that had been happening.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she thinks she owns the store, actually," said Prompto. Because...cat. But his grin went a little wistful as she mentioned Caritas.

"I didn't miss you sing or anything again, though, did I?"

He'd have liked to think Summer would have hooked him up if that were the case, but...

“That also wouldn’t surprise me if Rain thought she’d own the store,” Liz laughed and then she paused for a moment as she considered Prompto’s question before she shook her head, “No I thought I’d try and ease back into being around crowds again,” she admitted, “I thought about singing but I didn’t want to try too much in case it got overwhelming,”

"Well," said Prompto, lifting his chin somewhat importantly, like he knew maybe it was silly to feel a little bummed out if he had missed it, but he couldn't help it, "good. Because I'd definitely want to be there if you had. I mean, if you're gonna be up there, might as well have your biggest fan there to cheer you on, too, right?"

Liz smiled, “I would also want you to be there to watch,” she told him, “I did think that maybe I could try singing again next week?” she revealed, “depending on how everything goes throughout the week,”

She knew how quickly things could change but she’d been stable for a couple of months now, she didn’t think it wouldn’t hurt to start thinking about weekly social activities.

"On Wednesday?" Prompto asked eagerly. "I could definitely come back a little early to catch that."

Especially since he could get on the stage, too, because he definitely didn't want to miss an opportunity for a little karaoke of his own, and, honestly, they did spend last weekend in Insomnia! He could spare an extra evening in Fandom!

“On Wednesday,” Liz confirmed with a smile, “it’s been a while since I’ve done karaoke so I’m probably going to be a little rusty,” she added.

"We do have all weekend to practice," Prompto pointed out with a grin.

So, yeah, enjoy having his phone cycling through a variety of karaoke playlists for the next few days and Prompto belting out along with it the whole time now, LIz.

“I would like that,” Liz said with a laugh, “I definitely need the practice to get used to it again, it sounds like a fun way to spend the weekend,”

"Oh, sure," said Prompto. "You say that now. But just wait until about the fifth round of me trying to hit the high note on the chorus of 'Take on Me', and we'll see if you're...singing," Prompto didn't exactly wink just there, but he may as well have, "a different tune."

Liz grinned at that, “I’m sure it won’t be that bad,” she told him, “I think those would be some pretty impressive high notes,” she smiled.

"Ones that will definitely take," the warning tone in Prompto's voice seemed to contradict his grin, but the sentiment was interrupted either way because he figured mid-sentence was the best time to lean over and give Liz a kiss, as if to make up for the next part, which he figured could only be construed as some sort of threat, "a looooot of pracitce."

In case you didn't think his singing in the shower was bad enough already....oh, just you wait, Liz. Just. You. Wait.

Liz had no objections to any kind of kissing, “well they do say practice does make perfect,” she said with a grin as she pulled apart, even if she did have no idea what she was going to be in for.

"Better make that...a looooot of a lot of practice, then," Prompto chuckled, which just sort of tapered out into a wistful little grin as he look at Liz and seemed to just get a little swept in by the moment, which might have been a little silly, since it wasn't like there hadn't been moments just like this before, of him just leaning on the counter and shooting the shit with her and making her smiled, and...well, it was easy to get caught up in all of that, especially when a part of you still just couldn't really believe it was happening. And, in that moment, it would be impossible to not just kind of get swept away by it and to lean forward a little more to deliver a kiss that was much more in earnest, much more lingering, as if it could just seal that moment in his memory forever.

“However long it takes, to get ready by Wednesday,” Liz said, nodding with a smile as she did.

Her smile widened as she noticed Prompto leaning forward for a kiss and she definitely had no objections for more kissing and she leaned in to meet his lips for another kiss.

It was almost a shame, really, how all this kissing was clearly going to be cutting into all that practice time.

Almost.

Especially since, now that it had really gotten started, Prompto was definitely going to make the most of it. The counter between them had never been an issue for him before, and it wasn't a problem for him now, even after his hand reached over to gently cradle Liz's cheek as he kissed her.

And when he did eventually manage to pull away to breathe, he did so with a soft sigh of, "Man, I missed you..."

For those whole two days.

It was going to be such a hardship that they weren’t able to get that practice done but it was important to make up for all the kissing that they had been missing out on.

Liz leaned against the counter, eagerly leaning into the kiss and enjoying every moment that it lasted.

“I missed you too,” Liz said softly with a smile when they pulled apart, “it’s not the same when you’re not here,”

Yes she knew it was only two days that she didn’t get to see him but they were a very long two days.

Ohmygods, the longest! Just forget that Prompto's were usually spent just hanging out with Noctis and training with the others, but still!

"Good thing we've got the whole weekend ahead of us, then, right?" said Prompto, grinning softly, gently brushing back some of Liz's hair, and following it with another kiss.

And he'd be back early next week now, too!

Eventually, maybe he just...wouldn't even bother leaving at all!

Liz would certainly not object if Prompto decided to not leave at all, those two days were definitely some of the longest she experienced and there was only so much paperwork she could do to make the days go by quicker.

At least she did have Rain around to help keep her company.

"It's definitely a good thing," Liz said with a smile, as she looked up at Prompto, a faint blush spreading across her cheeks, "it'll be a nice weekend being able to spend time together," not that that was anything different to how they spent their other weekends.

She was definitely not complaining about more kisses and leaned in to meet Prompto's lips as he went in to give her another kiss.

You'd really think a buisness with all these customers would produce more than enough paperwork to keep her busy, and yet...

"It's always a nice weekend being able to spend time together."

Especially when some of that time was spent with kissing. Of which there was definitely going to be more of now.

You would really think that, for some strange reason Liz only seemed to have an abundance of paper work when she went away for longer than a few days, funny how that worked out.

“The weekends are my favourite part of the week,” Liz smiled up at him, “I’m glad we’re able to spend most weekends together,”

All that kissing was an added bonus really and she was most definitely eager to continue that kissing now.
