Fix & Clean Shop- Saturday Morning
Prom had been pretty laid back and uneventful, for which Dwight was grateful. He was also somewhat thankful and disappointed in equal measures when he woke up and soon realized that the pollen seemed to have finally faded away. The entire week had been a jumble of ups and downs and quite a few emotions as well and it had Dwight totally off his normal schedule. So much so that by the time he finally stumbled out of bed to make his way down to the shop, it was already getting light outside!
“Ok, Ok… I’m coming” he said to Snoopy as the pup scratched at the leading downstairs and whimpered. “You just went out a few hours ago. You can wait a few more minutes!”
Slowly and with nowhere near a clear enough mind to deal with what was about to greet him, Dwight opened the door and shook his head in mild amusement as the pup raised down the stair barking happily. Dwight made his way down the stairs sleepily, somewhat aware of the fact that Snoopy seemed to be giving more of a playful bark than his usual “I want to go out again” bark. Thankfully, he made it down the stairs before the other sound hit his ears… Laughter?
“Ahhh, Puppy! You are silly!”
Dwight looked up and froze where he was as he looked into the shop. He blinked a few times to make sure it wasn’t just a very vivid dream…. There, seated at the workbench that was for once clear of any projects and tools, was a young dark-haired boy who looked about ten or so. About as old as Lizzie was when she…
Dwight blinked again and stared as Snoopy was absolutely attacking the young boy with slobbery kisses, earning delighted laughs in return. He didn’t know quite what was going on, but he had an idea and it was quickly confirmed in the next moment when the boy looked up and their eyes met.
“Oh hey! Dad! You’re finally up!” he said with a big gin.
Dad? Yup. Dwight’s attention was fully had now as the bits and pieces of conversations he’d had in passing and overheard here and there all came together at last.
“Hey, son...” he said, that unfamiliar word sounding and feeling a bit strange as he said it.
The shop was so definitely open!

"I love him Dad! He's so cool" he said between the playful barks. "What's his name?"

That wasn't too awkward was it? Better than flat out asking your apparent son what his name was right? I mean compared to things this island tended to throw at them, this was pretty out there.

Kristoff looked around the shop for a moment and then looked back at his dad with a slight head tilt.
"You and mom have your shops separate right now? One Carpentry shop and one blacksmith shop?" he asked. "You guys must be doing a lot of work on the main shop then. Finally getting those upgrades you both have been planning for so long?"

A joint shop with him and a blacksmith? It didn't take a brain surgeon to figure out who that most likely was. Or why Kristoff did remind him a bit of Amaya... especially with that hair... And now Dwight had an entirely different reason to go see Amaya, sooner rather than later.
"Hey, how about we go pick up something for breakfast and go visit..." Dwight paused here for a moment as an odd feeling washed over him, "Mom and see how things are at her shop this morning?"

"Aye that she does" Dwight said with a grin. "Let's go find something special for her. How does that sound?"
Special because he had a feeling Amaya was gonna need a little something extra to wrap her head around this... he knew he sure was.
And so, a short time later, the two were heading off on their morning mission, slowly making their way over to a certain blacksmith shop.
