Outside the MHA Complex- Early Saturday Morning

It had been a long restless night for Billy. The nightmares had been particularly bad, though after a few decent nights he should have expected his luck to run out sooner or later. So, Billy had spent the majority of the night at the shop, running through a few of the new beach meditation simulations he had gotten set up. It wasn't a fully restful or pleasant evening but it was better than laying in bed in an empty apartment wrangling nightmares and memories.

But as the sun began to peak over the water, Billy started locking up the shop and made his way back to the apartments. Only, somewhere along the way, something happened. Billy didn't know what it was. Or why it happened. But Billy suddenly felt different, somehow as he found himself standing outside the apartment complex.

Billy wasn't sure where he was. All he knew was he wasn't where he wanted to be. He was cold, it was damp outside, and he wanted to be inside. Thankfully someone had not noticed the front door slightly ajar and he managed to find his way inside, wandering the halls and stairways until making it to the second floor. Though now, he was simply stuck sitting in the hallway. Still not where he wanted to be. This would not do at all.

So, if anyone happened to be passing through the hallway, they would have seen a rather large cat sitting outside flat #3, mewing quite pittfully at a door that just was not opening. How rude!

(expecting one but anyone is free to interact with cat!Billy )

Even Jon couldn't say if it was his knowledge of someone's distress or his cat radar that brought him up to the next floor. He saw the cat and started heading over, smiling. "Hello, you. What..." He blinked. "Oh, for heaven's sake. Billy. Hang on." He fished his keys out and unlocked Billy's door.

"Er...I'm sorry, my knowledge doesn't extend to reading minds or speaking cat. Why don't you just...go get whatever it is you need." Hm. If this was something that was going to last, Billy was probably going to need some help. "Do you..." Could he even compel a cat? "Get whatever you like, then you can come back to my flat."

Jon couldn't stop a chuckle. "Ah. That does remind me, though." He walked through to Billy's bedroom and frowned. "You should probably get a little furniture in here. Although who am I to say anything? I spent almost a year living in my office." He went to the closet and got down a shirt and jeans, then dug around for underwear. "My apologies for the intrusion, but when this happened with Goose, he had no clothing afterward."

He looked back at Billy, then picked up the blanket and bundled the clothes in it. "Come on, then."

Jon looked down at him, exasperated, as he closed and locked the door. "Trip me and I'm liable to fall on top of you," he warned.

He led the way downstairs, doing his best to avoid that, and opened the door to let Billy in. "Right. I have no cat food right now, so you're on tuna for a bit. I'll leave the balcony open so you can go in and out, and I'd appreciate it if you did your business outside."

That was only to be expected of a cat, really. Jon went into the kitchen and got down the promised can of tuna, upended it on a plate, filled a bowl with water, and set both on the coffee table before joining Billy on the couch, tossing his blanket to him. "I don't suppose you know how this happened or how long it will last, do you?"

Even if Billy had an answer, it wasn't as if he could come out and say it, so Jon just shrugged. "Well, you'd better not go through nicotine withdrawal, because I have no idea how I could get you to smoke." Although it was an amusing picture.

"Right. Well, I was planning on watching Animal Planet, so I hope you've no objections. I'll try to stay away from anything involving dogs."

"Now stop that," Jon chided, switching the remote to the other hand. It was harder to work that way, but he didn't need a lot of manual dexterity to push buttons, especially if he set it on the cushions rather than trying to curl his scarred hand around it.

He found a show about sharks and switched to it, dividing his attention between the TV and Billy as it started up. "Do I need to get cat toys? I don't imagine you can read or anything like that." He paused. "I don't even know what your hobbies are - I'm fairly sure surfing is right out."

After a while, Jon's hand crept closer unconsciously, his fingertips reaching out to stroke between Billy's shoulders, and he hummed contentedly. It was good to have a cat around.
