It was going to be a slow day. There had been no deliveries for her to sort through, the shop was clean, so Wanda was going to spend her day browsing the internet. This could only mean bad/embarrassing things for Jeff. And maybe she'd get more decorative pillows for her apartment. Yes, she had turned into one of those people.

Was Steve being a stalker, but with the best of intentions? Yeah, maybe. He just didn't want Wanda to feel lonely.

So here he was with two chocolate milkshakes because who didn't like chocolate milkshakes?

"Wanda?"

"Hey," Wanda said, lifting her head up from her phone. "How's it going?"

Steve held up his milkshakes. "It's hard to complain when I'm holding ice cream. Would you like one? I'll have to check with Jeff otherwise."

"I will take one, thank you," Wanda said with a grin. "Though Jeff could probably use the calories."

"They seem to go right through him."

Steve. Steve, don't look so pleased with yourself.

[scarlet_chaos]

"Oh, good one," Wanda said, though it was too cheesy to actually laugh at. "How have you been? Anything interesting Avengers-wise?"

"I've been sticking around here more, actually."

That would definitely not bite him in the ass!

"Maybe something will catch fire soon. It's been too quiet, which tends to mean someone's planning something."

"That is usually how it goes," Wanda agreed. "Though aren't you supposed to be the optimistic one?"

"I am optimistic that it won't happen this week," Steve said with a grin, handing over the milkshake. "I'd hate to miss whatever Skywalker has planned for tomorrow."

"I'm hoping this is my lucky week to miss the torture sessions," Wanda joked. "It'd be nice just to watch for once."

"It's a lot of fun to watch," Steve said. "I get such good ideas for team building!"

Whew, she was grateful her Steve never got that into his head. She had enough bad shirts just living on this island.

"You might see a mutual friend of ours," Wanda said. "Well, future mutual friend of yours. Maybe. If you meet him ever. Anyway, a guy named Scott is here, he knows us. In a professional capacity, not in a fanboy capacity."

Actually it was both.

"Tony mentioned him!" Steve said, grinning. "I haven't met him yet, in any universe."

Nice, normal thing to say.

"You like him?"

“Yeah, he’s a good guy,” Wanda said with a nod. “I trust him to have my back in a fight.”

"That's good to know," Steve said earnestly. "Tony only kind of vaguely sketched out what Scott could do."

It was all tangled up in Hank and that was a mess and a half in Tony's universe.

"Oh yeah, he's Ant-Man. It's exactly what it sounds like," Wanda said. "...except sometimes he can be big too."

"Giant Ant-Man?" Steve said, frowning. "That's counter-intuitive."

"Makes more sense when you see it in person." Not really, but it was useful!

"I look forward to meeting him," Steve said, smiling. "Is he always really tiny unless he's really big?"

"He's usually just people-sized most of the time," Wanda said. "Maybe a little shorter than you."

Steve grinned. "I'd feel bad if I accidentally stepped on him," he admitted.
