Liz was feeling a bit better than she had been for the last few days, she still was missing Prompto a lot but going to the Space Spa with Summer had helped her, plus she now knew that Prompto was at least alright despite everything and there was even a chance Summer could establish a way for them to send messages through even if they weren’t going to be answered.

Since it looked like she was going to be here for a bit longer, she thought it wouldn’t hurt to decorate the store a bit to help show her support for Pride and it was something to keep her occupied as well, so Liz was keeping herself busy working on hanging up decorations and making sure it the store looked accepting and welcoming.

Steven hadn't seen Liz since Saturday so he hoped she wouldn't mind him stopping by to see how she was doing. He brought a bribe with him just in case.

Liz definitely didn’t mind Steven stopping by and she smiled when she saw him.

“Steven hi!” Liz said as she looked up, still getting used to how short her hair felt when she moved her head.

Steven's eyes had needed a moment to adjust from the light outside. He beamed when he saw her. "Liz! Your hair! Oh it looks lovely."

Liz smiled shyly at that, feeling her cheeks redden slightly, “thank you,” she grinned, “it’s still taking some getting used to but I think I needed the change,” she admitted.

"Very cool," Steven assured her. "Literally as well, I imagine. Better for summer being short. The season, I mean. Not the person."

“I think it will be nice, at least it won’t be a lot of maintenance in the summer,” Liz smiled, “even though I think Rain is disappointed my long hair is gone,” she said, “but speaking of Summer, it was nice going to the spa and spending the day with the day with her ..,it helped a lot,”

"I want to hear all about it, but let me give you this before it melts," Steven said. He fished in his bag and brought out a pint sized container which he held out to Liz. "Chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and chocolate fudge swirls."

Steven smiled proudly because this choice of ice cream was not vanilla, so hopefully Liz would like it.

Liz’s smile widened at the ice cream, “oh wow this looks amazing and it’s all chocolate as well,” she added, noting that there wasn’t any sign of vanilla ice cream, “thank you,” she told him, that faint blush returning to her cheeks, “this is really nice of you,”

Steven was glad that he picked right. It would've been awful if it turned out she didn't like chocolate that much either. "I remembered you saying your flat was upstairs. Figured that way if you didn't feel like eating it you could put it away for later. I got sorbet for myself. Raspberry sorbet, which makes me think of the song. Raspberry Beret, I mean."

He added that last bit in case Liz didn't have Prince in her world, but what a horrible thing that would be if it were true.

Liz grinned as she accepted the chocolate ice cream, "I know what you mean," she told him, even though she didn't listen to a lot of Prince there was in fact one in her world. "I mean my music listening is pretty much limited to the Beatles but I do know that song," she told him.

"I do live upstairs, so that's not a bad idea if I put it in the freezer ... for later" she nodded, "we'll see how I go ... I ... I haven't been having much of an appetite lately but I do enjoy ice cream," she paused, "providing its not vanilla,"

"That's why I figured give it to you before it melted," Steven said. He looked at her with concern. "So how are you doing? You look all right, not just your hair. Spa day help?"

"It did, there was this strawberry scented mineral spa bath that Summer and I did ... it was actually really relaxing, I didn't realise how tense I'd been lately but that really helped," she told him, "I still feel a bit tired but that's probably still the lack of sleep I had last week, at least I don't feel like bursting into tears at the smallest thing," she admitted.

"Can be easy to burst into tears when you're exhausted or stressed and you've been both," Steven said, with sympathy. "I assume you haven't heard from Prompto or else you'd have said but any news from Summer or the like?"

Liz nodded, brightening quite considerably as Steven asked, "actually, I do have some news, Summer said that Shane has been getting feedback through his communicator ...he can hear a bit of their conversations ... not for long and its very random but Prompto and the others, they're still okay," she paused, "I mean considering the circumstances they're okay, we still can't communicate with them but at least knowing this much is better than not knowing anything," "

"Yeah, yeah, you know they're still there," Steven said. "That's major, that is. Keeps the imagination and anxiety from running too wild, you know?"

"It was just a relief to know that they're okay," Liz told him, "Summer sent she's planning an experiment if she can get some of the communicators from Shane's universe and try to tap into the frequency, I can leave a message for Prompto that way, he may not even get it but even the idea that he could hear it ... I don't know, I guess I feel a bit more hopeful than I did,"

"I have no idea how any of that works but it sounds amazing," Steven said. "Have to imagine Prompto would be just as thrilled to hear your voice as well, even if he couldn't talk to you. Just knowing you're all right too and all."

"I must admit I don't know how any of it really works either, this isn't exactly my area of expertise but Summer and Shane seem to know what they're doing, hopefully they can at least get through to them with some kind of message so they know we're trying to reach them," Liz said softly, "I hope it helps, I know he's probably busy with their mission to go to the tombs of Noctis' ancestors and ..." she hesitated, "I feel guilty for thinking this but sometimes I'm scared he's going to forget about me,"

"I can't imagine anyone forgetting about you," Steven said. "And, if you care about him as much as you do I can't imagine him being the sort of prat who would either."

Liz nodded, “I guess I’m being a bit irrational right now, last week I was sobbing to Summer about him finding someone else…” she stared down at her ice cream, “I just really miss him,”

"I'm sure he's missing you as well," Steven said. "With everything he's going through I bet he especially misses you. Someone who reminds him of being safe and at home, you know? A reason to keep going in spite of it all?"

Liz nodded, feeling reassured, “I just wish I could be over there, helping him …i guess in the meantime I just need to try and keep myself busy, so I don’t keep worrying all the time,” it had taken awhile but the keeping busy suggestion everyone had been telling her had finally sunk in.

"Any ideas on how to keep your mind off of it?" Steven asked.

“I’m not really sure,” Liz admitted, “I know Summer mentioned about organising a cat play date for our cats at one point but other than that…I don’t really have other hobbies aside from photography,”

"You did say you wanted to show me photography sometime," Steven said. "Could try that if it'd help?"
