The next time Amaya wound up badgering someone in a class about a potential new project that they probably didn't need, she was going to have to remember to really talk it up into something a little more challenging, because Travis' pike pole had been just a bit too straightforward to provide much of a distraction. Thankfully, it had provided enough of one that she was able to consider a more sensible next step now that his was mostly finished, and that was seeing about where to fit in a few spring-loaded pike poles onto the Crumbler.
If you had a look at some of her other sketches and ideas, yes, you would see, adding spring-loaded pike poles to the Crumbler really was the most sensible of the options.
Did it seem a little...superfluous, adding something like a poking apparatus to something whose (original) sole purpose has been to crush and crumble? Maybe. But if you asked Amaya, it was purely a matter of diversifying, so that the thing would truly be ready for any situation life might decide to throw at her.
