Fast Eddie's, Thursday evening
"I can't believe I let Dallas talk me into this."
To be fair, Dallas hadn't actually told Rosa to try bowling. He'd simply suggested she try stepping a little further out of her comfort zone and find activities that used her occasional excesses of energy without reminding her of when she used to get high. She was the one who decided that meant bowling.
She finished tying the world's ugliest (and yet also weirdly delightful in their ugliness?) shoes and went to go look for a good bowling ball. "Suspicious footwear and ball fondling. Michael would be proud. Or probably mock me for days." Which, with Michael, was kind of the same thing. "Let's see, ugly, ugly, boring, ugly -- oo, sparkles!"
She picked up a shimmery, swirled green ball and held it up. "Stick some giant almond eyes on this sucker and it'd fit right in back home." She hefted it the way she saw people heft their bowling balls on television, stepped awkwardly up to the line, and rolled.
The ball went immediately into the gutter.
"And I suck. Cool." She looked around, wishing Liz or Kyle or Isobel or even Michael himself was here. "I need more friends."
[open! Please distract me from medical device legal document hell.]
