Magpie Emporium; Friday [07/08].
Even though Graham was hoping that giving himself his own shout-out about the roleplaying sessions he wanted to put together on the radio would bring a few interested people to him, he knew he couldn't bank solely on that, which was why, today, when he wasn't taking care of one task or the other or helping the occasional vague customer drifting in, he had some paper and some markers out in front of him and was pursuing things in the good old fashioned way of making flyers to post about town and the dorms to let people know. That was, after all, a proven method of advertisement back home. If there was one thing his universe loved, it was a good flyer!
Granted, Graham wasn't the best artist when it came to drawing, but he made sure his lettering and penmanship was even and legible, and the little figures of various adventurers going about their quest weren't exactly the type of thing you'd see framed in a museum somewhere, but they were actually kind of adorable.
And since Graham didn't know about photocopying, each one was going to be lovingly and happily made by hand, and he was having an additional good time of it by changing up some of the tiny details from one poster to another. Not that he imagined anyone would notice, but he was mostly doing it for his own amusement, anyway.

The Magpie Emporium is open!

handwavilycooking before his classes and he decided to try and make some churros and he had also made chonchasYes he had been at the Magpie Emporium yesterday but it didn’t hurt to stop by again today and after his classes were done, he packed his containers of food and headed into town.
“Hey,” he smiled brightly when he entered, even though Graham had liked his cooking last week, he was still feeling a bit nervous.
no subject
His eyes had definitely landed on the containers in Guillermo's hands with an eager anticipation, but it seemed pretty impolite to just jump right on that. They could totally be for someone else! It was rude to assume!

Said in a tone that made it pretty clear that Graham was still incredibly glad that he had, while his hands were already reaching for the containers.
"They sound amazing!"
Did he have any clue what they were beyond that they were pastries? Nope! Did he need anything more to base his declaration on? Absolutely not!

He paused, trying to glance down at those flyers, “so ….uh how about you? What what have you been up to?”
Guillermo hadn’t listened to radio yet.

"This!" Graham gushed excitedly, churros and chonchas forgotten for the time being in favor of extolling his latest and greatest inspiration. He snatched up one of the finished posters, brandishing it it in the air like a flag, complete with a little "bah-ba-ba-BAH!" fanfare, before handing it over to Guillermo.
On it was a small party of slightly-more-that-stick figure warriors and wizards being lead by, of course, a figure in a long red cloak with a smart blue adventurer's cap, with words proclaiming: CALLING ALL ADVENTURERS! THE TIME FOR GLORY, GOLD, AND MOST OF ALL ~FUN~ IS NIGH! COME AND JOIN ME, GRAHAM, YOUR FEARLESS GAME MASTER THROUGH AN EXCITING JOURNAL OF THRILLS AND SKILLS, OF DUNGEONS AND OF COURSE DRAGONS!
FRIDAY NIGHTS! ONLY AT THE ~MAGPIE EMPORIUM~!
His contact information was on the bottom, as well, but that wasn't nearly as exciting.
"Miss Steph said I can go ahead and start running games here!" he then elaborated. "I'm hoping to start next week! I'm still looking for a few players, though"--still, as if he'd gotten any yet, and he shot Guillermo a hopeful look--, "Think you might be interested?"
no subject
“This is awesome!” he declared excitedly, “I’m definitely interested in taking part,” he told Graham and then paused, “I mean I would like to take part that is,” he started to go a bit red.
no subject
At least one player that was not an animal or robot! Things were looking pretty good for this game so far!
"Do you think you know what kind of character you want to play?" he asked eagerly. "Or did you need some time to think about it?"
no subject
“Can I - can I be a vampire?” Guillermo asked excitedly at the thought because no one would have ever suspected he’d want to play a vampire right?
no subject
"Er, I mean," he added, rubbing the back of his neck a little sheepishly as he realized that maybe Guillermo would have better things to do that afternoon. "That is, if you're not busy, anyway."
no subject
“and I’m not busy at all,” he told Graham, “I’d love to get set up now,”
no subject
Not that he had to go very far to fetch all the materials and some dice and whatever else; he was definately planning on rolling up some NPCs when he was done with the posters just for funsies.
"You don't happen to know anyone else who might be interested, too, do you?" he ventured curiously, as he set everything out between them on the counter.
no subject
Actually he had no idea if Libby would be interested or comfortable with the idea but they were the only two people he actually really knew at least well enough to think that they might be interested in taking part.
He really needed to get out more.
no subject
"And Libby's nice, too," he added, a bit more thoughtfully, because he hadn't talked as much with her. "She was in the LARP class with us, too, right? And she seemed to be enjoying it..."
As he pondered that some more, he pulled out a fresh, clean character sheet, holding it aloft for a moment as if it was some mystical artifact and then slapped it down on the counter with a grin. "You ever make a character like this before?"
no subject
There was a pause then at that last part, “not really, I’ve never actually played Dungeons and Dragons before,” he admitted, “I play a vampire sometimes when I do LARPing though?” he revealed.
no subject
Graham, they probably didn't need two flyers. But he was still holding out another one of Guillermo anyway.
"And thay's good! Previous vampire experience! I'm pretty sure I'll have to modify a few things, I don't remember seeing vampire as a class or race, but we can figure it out! It's all just imagination and dice rolls anyway, right?"
Graham's game was absolutely going to make ALL the rules lawyers weep.
no subject
Guillermo really didn’t understand the rules or how this was normally supposed to work, he was just really excited about the idea of creating a vampire character to play.
no subject
Everyone they ever knew, apparently, was GREAT.
"Now," he said, honing in on the character sheet and very dramatically slipping a pencil out from the others and bestowing it toward Guillermo like handing over some holy weapon,"do you want to start with name and backstory, or do you want to start with rolling stats?
"And I," he added, with a little wiggle of his fingers in anticipation after he had bequeathed the pencil and went reaching for the container, "am going to finally start with these treats!"
no subject
“I do like to use my own name when I’m playing a vampire ,” he said shyly as he picked up the offered pencil, it’s the name I’d like to go by if I’m ever turned into a vampire one day, Guillermo the Great,” he revealed.
He grinned at last part, “I hope you do like them, I’ve been enjoying baking with pastry,” he added.
no subject
Seriously, boys, find a damn thesaurus.
"But now what I really want to know is..." His dramatic pause timed well with his finally taking a bite, and then waved it a little, thoughtfully, "what is it that makes Guillermo so great?
"Besides being amazing at baking pastries!" he added with a laugh, not even needing magic to make that churro completely disappear.
no subject
“Well, baking is one of the many that makes Guillermo great,” he could feel his cheeks going redder at that, “but he is also a great vampire in general, any familiars he has he will keep his promise to make the vampires,”
For some reason Guillermo felt it was important to highlight that completely unaware that it was going to be something he would be experiencing for himself.
no subject
"Soooo," he mused, "is a familiar something you'd want right at the start of the game, or something you'd want to pick up as you level up?"
Either way, he wasn't very familiar with vampire familiars, he might have to look a few things up.
no subject
He considered his options, “maybe a familiar is something I could have as I levelled up, once I got more experience being a vampire and then I could have a familiar for myself?”
no subject
And give him some time to do some research on it, too!
