Chilly Boulder, Wednesday Afternoon

Even though Steve won his pie eating contest, he was still a growing super soldier. Which was why Tony had offered to treat him to ice cream. And not just because it was summer and Tony wanted some ice cream. No, no. Not at all.

Except how it was.

Tony looked over the variety of selections, trying not to just order the kitchen sink monstrosity just to see if Steve would be able to finish it without getting sick. Choices, choices...

"Can we get the Skywalker?" Steve asked predictably.

"Will I be rolling you into a rickshaw to get home?" Tony asked.

[heroic_jawline]

"Nah, I'll need to take the stairs," Steve said with a grin. "Work off all of the ice cream."

The staffer assured him that it was indeed all of the ice cream.

"Oh, of course," Tony said with a laugh, shaking his head. "Remind me again how you ate an entire pie today?"

"It was a small pie!" Steve said.

"It was still a pie!" Tony said with a laugh.

[heroic_jawline]

"Barely even a pie!" Steve protested.

[imafuturist]

"Uh huh," Tony said, bumping his shoulder into Steve's. "Order your monstrosity."

"Will you help me eat it?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"I'll have some." Not nearly as much as Steve. Because Tony was but a mere human.

Steve kissed his cheek. "You can have as much as you'd like," he said as the kid started scooping.

"Oh, I'm aware. I just know not to keep up with you," he teased.

"You can pick the toppings," Steve said helpfully.

[imafuturist]

"Caramel," Tony suggested without missing a beat. "And those brownie pieces."

They were so lucky that Steve couldn't get diabetes.

"And cherries," Steve said. "Because it's fruit."

It wasn't really fruit.

"Practically healthy," Tony agreed.

The ice cream was coming in a bucket, as all health foods do.

"Exactly," Steve agreed as the ice cream kid held up whipped cream. "Sure," he said, nodding.

And that was half a bottle of Reddi-wip into the bucket.

"Almost a salad," Tony added, trying not to laugh.

The kid behind the counter looked decidedly dubious about that as he handed over the bucket and Steve gave him cash.

Tony graciously made sure to leave a very nice tip to not judge them too harshly. Not that it would stop them.

"It's in a bucket," he whispered to Steve.

"That makes it better," Steve said, though did it, really?

"You are going to be such a mess after this," Tony informed him with a laugh.

"I'm not getting into the bucket," Steve teased with a grin. "I think I'll be okay."

Other than the massive, if temporary, stomachache.

"Uh huh," Tony replied like he totally believing him.

Steve flicked some whipped cream at him. "Oh no, you're going to be messy too," he deadpanned.
