Hey, another Eddie!

Though this one was wearing a shirt this time around as he poked his head in the place after hearing from radio that portal guy apparently worked here. And he sort of felt compelled to check in.

No, it wasn't in case something exciting happened again, don't be silly.

"That," Eddie said, totally handling the weirdness with grace and not looking mildly concerned still. "Well, at least it's not another Steve."

If radio was to go by, the island was overrun with Steve's.

"I take it this means you're sticking around here," he said, looking around the place.

Scott had noticed the sign regarding free drinks on his way in, and while he wasn't much of a metal guy (metal...head? See, this is how much of not-one he was), this was a pretty well-known song. Also, probably the choice of the guy at the counter, because Scott was good at putting two and two (or hair and Metallica) together.

"Dude, this place is awesome," he greeted Eddie as he sidled up to the counter, clearly kind of in retro heaven. And he hadn't even bowled yet!

"Is anyone else gonna take credit?" Scott asked, glancing around. "'Cause you should if not."

Trade secret, kid, from Ant-Man to you: never let on how little you had to do with the success of something you happened to be standing near.

Eddie looked around at where some of the clearly stoned teens were refusing to look up from their phone. "I don't wanna take too much credit, because then people will start expecting stuff of me."

Which would be a disaster.

"That's probably smart," Scott decided, leaning against the counter and considering that wisdom. Those kids didn't look like they had a lot of expectations, but they did look like they'd welcome the opportunity to shed any responsibility they could. "I haven't seen a lot of these games since I was a kid."

Which was, you know, around when Eddie was from. Hooray for nostalgia media!

You know how Summer said, the other day, about how this place had plenty of weird stuff to go around?

Yeah, the fact that she showed up at the bowling alley with a rainbow-dyed koala awkwardly clinging to her was definitely a part of that.

She was, clearly, doing her very best to ignore that at the moment.

"Oh, good," she said, spotting Eddie and heading over to him. "You are here. I have something for you."

And, yes, she could have continued on to explain what that something was, but what fun was that when a carefully placed pause could have opened the door up for Eddie wondering (dreading? hoping?) that that thing was actually a rainbow koala?

With the way the koala was clinging and knowing full well how these things liked to go, she was actually thinking about it. Sorry, Stark, but they have talked about these clinging tendencies before!

"Is it about the Care Bear you're holding?" Eddie asked.

"It is not," Summer assured Eddie, wincing a little as she tried, somewhat unsuccessfully, to pull a paw out of her ponytail. "And it's not a Care Bear, but instead, it's my friend Stark, who turned into a koala at the bar on Wednesday, the color palette is thanks to Anakin Skywalker's daughter, who I think might really have a career as a stylist ahead of her. But I digress."

One good thing about the clinging, she supposed, was that she could use both her hands without dropping Stark, although she did make a vain effort to deposit him into a chair. It seemed, however, that now that he was away from aspiring beauticians, he planned to stick to the safety of Summer now for all it was worth.

Either way, she was able to dig out a small box and set it down in front of Eddie, and nodded towards it.

"Your phone," she said. "I have a small stock of them at the store for time displaced people who are in need of one, should be all set with the basics, if you want to expand beyond that, I fully encourage it, just donate this one back, but that'll at least get you started and connected."

"Oh shit, really?" Eddie broke out into a grin as he reached for the box. "This is so awesome, thank you. I was getting self-conscious because I was the only one here not staring at a screen."

Indeed from behind Eddie there were several teens staring at their phones. One of them was at least pretending to sweep at the same time.

And in those teens, Summer saw a reflection of her past self, which may also have been a reflection of her current self, but one that, at the ripe old age of twenty-two, had deluded herself into thinking thank god she'd matured since then...

"Well," she declared, "be self-conscious no more, you, too, can now officially stare validly at a tiny screen to make the existential dread of the real world around you slightly more bearable."

Hey, at least she was somewhat self aware, right?

Yes, he had figured that out. If it weren't for the time travel he'd be an old, old man.

"It's not vintage for me," Eddie said, before Rosa could accidentally call him elderly or something. "Turns out time travel is a thing I didn't realize I had to worry about."

Look, there were only so many things to do on this island, and Scott wasn't all that much of a drinker, so he'd finally gotten around to checking out the bowling alley. And he also wasn't much of a solo bowler (though he'd totally give it a try.) But you know what he did love? Video games from when he was a kid, that's what, just like every other dude his age.

"Oh, wow! Space Ace!" Who was he talking to? Anyone. Maybe no one. It didn't matter when you were looking at a nigh-impossible, beautifully-animated LaserDisc arcade game you hadn't seen since you were a child. (Probably compounded by the fact that many cabinets were converted to its much more popular sister game, Dragon's Lair, themoreyouknow.gif.)
