Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey was headed home for a few days right after training, so she had a bag ready over by the storage palm trees, and BB-8 was hanging out till it was time to go. She had plenty of time to get things done, maybe run the course a few times...

And the first time through she stopped short when she looked down and saw the shark fins circling around in the quicksand.

"I haven't even been watching that channel," she said, deeply confused as to why this stuff was following her this week.

"Rey?" Anakin called, coming into the warehouse.

"Did you out sharks in the quicksand?" Rey asked by way of greeting.

[sith_happened]

"Noooo," Anakin said slowly. "Are there sharks in the quicksand?"

"There are," she said, gesturing at the pit she'd been about to jump over, right as a fin came up out of it.

[sith_happened]

"Well, that's just unacceptable," Anakin muttered.

[thatwaslucky]

"It's been a theme this week," Rey said, jumping down.

[sith_happened]

"The sharks or things being unacceptable?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"The sharks," she said. "BB-8 had a fin for an entire day."

He beeped his okay at that.

"Aww,"Anakin said without meaning to.

[thatwaslucky]

"I got video," she said, pulling out her phone.

[sith_happened]

"Part of what I like about you," Anakin said teasingly, peering at her screen.

[thatwaslucky]

She hit play on the video, which showed BB-8 happily rolling around the mermaid couch in her apartment with his shark fin on.

"Too bad that wasn't the day the Mandibles music was following me around," she said.

"That's adorable," Anakin said, smiling at the video. "You can probably add the music in now."

"Way too much work for me," she told him, pocketing her phone again. "Besides, then you can't hear his sounds as well."

"I do enjoy the sounds," Anakin admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"He's so happy about it, I don't want to lose any of that," Rey said. "If he's still here at Halloween..."

"He should definitely have a costume," Anakin said, nodding. "Maybe a few."

He could give Grogu a run for being the cutest.

"Maybe, if he lets me," she said. "And if Poe hasn't taken him back by then."

[sith_happened]

"Poe won't mind," Anakin said, based on nothing.

[thatwaslucky]

"That depends entirely on whether he's annoyed with me at the time or not," Rey pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"Why would he be annoyed with you?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, we're annoyed with each other pretty often," she admitted. "He thinks I do things wrong, I know he does things wrong..."

"And how did you borrow BB-8?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Poe offered him." She shrugged. "I love him to pieces but that doesn't mean we can't be on each other's nerves sometimes."

No matter how much Finn wished that part would stop.

Anakin laughed. "I've had friends like that," he admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"That antagonize you on purpose?" Rey asked, a hypocrite.

[sith_happened]

"You've met Stark, right?" Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh," Rey said. "He wasn't thrilled about me knowing he was dyed colors, by the way."

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed a little ruefully. "That was Juliet."

[thatwaslucky]

"I think it's more that I know, maybe." Oops.

[sith_happened]

"Ooops."

[thatwaslucky]

"Yeah, I didn't think about that," she admitted. "He was adorable, though."

Which helped, maybe!

"He was! And you were the only person I showed," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, so that's good! That should be better." Again, hopefully.

[sith_happened]

"I hope so," Anakin said. "I wasn't trying to humiliate him in any way."

"I know," she said. "I think he might have been a little embarrassed about... all of it. It is a lot."

Changing back in front of a boyfriend who'd seen you naked before but still had to feed you for a week? Embarrassing.

Anakin nodded. "I once turned into a cat," he said. "I didn't love it."

"You would be a very cranky cat," Rey agreed.

[sith_happened]

"I was a very cranky cat," Anakin confirmed.

[thatwaslucky]

"Did Juliet dye you colors?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "This was before Juliet was born."

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, you've gotten off easy then." She'd had to go through this twice in the last few years!

Anakin grinned. "I have."

[thatwaslucky]

"I've been a ray and a cat and neither was fair," she said.

[sith_happened]

"I've been a pony with a lightsaber on my ass?" Anakin offered.

[thatwaslucky]

"So've I!" she said. "Without the lightsaber. It's not any better."

[sith_happened]

"Pinkie Pie said it's called a cutie mark. She was a pink pony who talked and used to teach here. She had a party cannon."

She had scarred Anakin just a little.

"That makes literally as much sense as anything else," Rey said.

[sith_happened]

"This place is insane," Anakin agreed with a little smile.
