"What's this, then?" Watts said, squinting down at the slice of cake on his desk.
"Birthday cake," Ralph explained.
"But my actual birthday isn't until Monday," Watts protested.
"Yeah, but it'd be weird if I gave McGarrett birthday cake," Ralph pointed out.
... The man had a point. And besides, he was going out to celebrate (the first time in... well. It didn't matter. It was the first time he could recall celebrating it, so that was the important part.) with Steven tonight so it did make a certain logical sense.
Plus, you know. Free food.
