Fandom Fire Station | Tuesday

Buck had been here almost a year, and had been fairly confident he knew every inch of the station by now considering how often he cleaned it out of boredom. But then he opened a random drawer looking for a pen and got completely drenched in confetti. It was a like a confetti booby trap.

Whelp. At least he had something else to clean now.

Steve poked his head into the station. "Hey, brah, I have a work-related question for you."

Well. Kind of. If you squinted.

"Danny and I are thinking of doing a cookout on Labor Day and were wondering if a bonfire full of those free shirts would kill everyone around us."

He grinned. "Well, for other people's shirts. Mine are awesome and I'm keeping them."

"It should be fine," Buck said, still brushing confetti out of his hair. "And if something does happen, I wouldn't mind having the work."

Though why anybody would want to get rid of those sweet shirts was beyond him.

"Will it interrupt your second gig as a firefighter who jumps out of cakes?" Steve teased, gesturing to the confetti.

"Dude, some people would pay good money for that." The same people who bought those firefighter calendars, probably. "Someone booby trapped one of the drawers in here with confetti."

"We can investigate it but I don't think we're that bored yet," Steve said.

[firehousehimbo]

"Do any of you guys even have those kinds of engineering skills?" Buck asked.

[grenadesandohana]

"I do," Steve admitted with a grin, "but it wasn't me."

"I'll take your word on that," Buck said. At least it was confetti and not glitter. "Why are you burning shirts?"

"Danny thinks it'll be cathartic?" Steve said with a shrug. "I like 'em."

"Dude, me too!" Buck said. "Will's been giving me his all summer."

Like a true friend would.

"He's really missing out," Steve agreed. "They're awesome. And free."

[firehousehimbo]

"Exactly!" This is what he has been saying all summer. "But lighting a whole bunch of them on fire would be kind of cool."

[grenadesandohana]

"There's also that," Steve admitted with a grin. "Fire's fun."

[firehousehimbo]

“It is,” Buck agreed with a nod. “Until it gets out of hand, but that can be fun too.”

So win-win as far as Buck was concerned, light those shirts up.

"Sweet," Steve said, giving him a thumbs-up. "We'll do the fire, then. Plus the grill. Cooking over the shirts would be gross."

"Probably would mess with the taste of the food too." Or melted shirt flavor could be exactly what hot dogs needed to taste even better.

Best not risk it, though.

"That's what I was thinking," Steve admitted, nodding. "I'm not sure polyblend burgers are the new trend."
