Stark Industries- Sunday

Rey was headed home after work, and she had no idea that she wouldn't be back here for a bit. If she had, she might have saved herself the trouble of trying to intervene in BB-8 and the gremlin squabbling at each other again. Because it wasn't working. And if she turned her back the gremlin would make a rude gesture toward BB-8, then BB-8 would tell, and they'd have to go through it all again.

It was going to be a long shift.

Maybe another little robot would help with the tension?

Like the little yellow robot Stark was carrying with him when he stopped just inside the door to the shop.

"The dog reminded me I meant to bring him to see you," he said, lifting the robot. "Or bring him so you could see him."

"Oh, hello!" Rey said, to the droid. "What's his name?"

[stykera]

The DRD beeped a hello.

"He never said if he had one," Stark said. "Only a few of them did, before. Crichton named them. I...he probably ought to have one."

The DRD beeped again in response.

"Most of the droids I know use their designation as a name. Like Artoo or Threepio," she said.

[stykera]

"They're all DRDs. We had Pike, and 1812 who sang, and One-Eye." Who Stark had always felt an affinity for for some reason.

"I don't think I ever knew of names for any of the others. Pilot might know." Probably not.

"Would you like a name?" Another beep which seemed affirmative.

[thatwaslucky]

"What's his personality like?" Rey asked. "I only just met him."

[stykera]

"He's mostly quiet. Keeps me company, sometimes. Just... helpful. And he didn't cause trouble when I was a koala. Which is good. Travis already broke the door. Can I put him down?"

Because little robots scooting around on the floor was cute.

"You can, he should be fine," Rey said. "What do you think of when you think of 'helper?'"

[stykera]

Hopefully the little robot, now that it was free to explore, would not get in a fight with the gremlin. Or BB-8. Or both.

"Besides my friends?" Stark asked with a shrug. Present company very much included, of course. "I'll have to think about it."

[thatwaslucky]

"He might still tell you, too," Rey said, as BB-8 came rolling over, partly to get tf away from his gremlin antagonizer.

[stykera]

"He might," Stark agreed. "Or perhaps he'll just follow your friend around and forget about a name."
