The Causeway, Then Through Town, Friday Afternoon
A very expensive, very new SUV (thanks, Castor) parked in the causeway lot, and the driver reached over to shake his passenger's shoulder.
"Smalls, wake up. We're here."
There was no response. Gray was out cold. Raiden should have expected this.
"Okay, Smalls," he said, and went around the car to get his brother out.
There was a very large man with a much smaller, unconscious guy slung over one shoulder like a sack of potatoes dragging a suitcase (which had some anime guy on it, Raiden didn't know which one) behind him, making his way through the town. This was very normal, right?
"I'm starving," Raiden complained aloud. "What's good around here besides the pizza, Smalls?"
'Smalls' once again did not reply. He might have snored a little bit.
((Open!))

He was a bundle of excited nerves ahead of the welcome picnic tomorrow, especially since he had been chosen to be a big sibling to one of the new students. So to burn off some energy, Kurt was doing what he liked to do best- port around the island.
But something caught his eye as he did. That.... looked like Gray? Asleep... as usual. But who was that carrying him?
"Hey, need any help?" he called out. Kurt knew he tended to fall asleep a lot of random places. But over someone's shoulder was a new one so... might be best to check. "Is Gray alright?"
no subject
Huh. Demon kid. Didn't see those outside of the underworld all that often.
Oh, he'd asked a question. "Oh, yeah, he's fine! He...does this." A beat. "Could you point me in the direction of his dorm, maybe?"
no subject
"Haven't see you around here before though...."
And yes. Despite noting the unusually calm response to seeing someone that looked, well...like him, Kurt was still giving you a bit of a cautious look. Couldn't let someone kidnap hid friend's roomie and all now, could he?"

He gave Raiden a firm handshake and nodded towards the suitcase. "Need some help with that? I live in the dorms so can help you get Gray there if you want."
Not that he was questioning the strength or capability of someone who looked like they were build like Logan.

"Nah, I got him. Carryin' Gray home is sort of a family tradition. Although usually Galen does it. He's the most overprotective." Came with being able to see the darkness in everyone. "And the biggest." Yep. Bigger than Raiden's 6'7" hulk.

"You here visiting? Brining Gray back after the break?" Kurt asked, trying to make small talk as they went.

"What's your favorite thing to cook?"
no subject
"I cook a lot of foods from back home. In Germany. I enjoy learning other recipes and trying new foods."
There was a slight pause as Kurt thought about all the meals he and Guillermo had made already in the common room.
"I... I tend to eat a lot" Kurt said with a shy grin. "Kind of a necessity most of the time."
no subject
"Me, too," he said. "Although more like...all of the time. I'm actually starving right now." He'd downed half a dozen cheeseburgers in the car on the way from the airport, but that was practically a snack. "What's good around here--besides the pizza, I mean?"
Hungry, Gluttony whined.

Hungry.
Yeah, bud, Raiden told Gluttony. We're gonna feed you. We've just gotta take care of Smalls first. He then reminded himself that he didn't know this Kurt kid from Bellamy's last fling and he could not just ditch Gray with him to go eat his way through the entire boardwalk, and finally said, "So the dorm is this way, right?" while heading in that direction, because seriously, he needed to eat soon.

He noted the sense of urgency and how Raiden's pace had quickened some. Kurt bit his lip in thought for a moment before continuing.
"I... I could try and get the two of you there a little faster," he offered slowly, still trying to weigh in his mind if this was something he should be considering. "I... could port the two of you, at least to the school grounds."

Raiden wasn't mad. He was just disappointed. Also, wrong, but it was an honest mistake.

"Work how?" Kurt asked. "To get you and Gray to the dorms faster. Isn't that what you wanted?"
Kurt held that questioning gaze for a moment then a realization suddenly dawned on him. Raiden had barely reacted at all, to anything so far. Barely raised eyebrow at the sight of him when most people's controlled and subdued reaction was one of near panic at the sight of a 'demon.' Raiden thought he was a demon.... and was just now, questioning it?
"Wait.... You think I'm a demon. Don't you?" Kurt said with an expression that was both 'of course you do' and 'then why are you so chill about it' at the same time.

But no, he couldn't. It would probably come back and really bite him on the tail later. So, with a awkward smile Kurt looked up, and up, at Raiden.
"Ah well see, I'm actually NOT a demon. I, I am actually more human than demon..." which he was sure was going to be so easy to accept. "I'm what we call, back in my world and time, a Mutant."

Was he sure he wasn't just a demon?

"Not every place has Mutants. In fact, it seems like most don't. But... it's ok," Kurt said looking up the hill towards the school. "It's not that much farther till we get there."
