The Causeway, Saturday Morning
There was a crack of thunder and bolt of lightning as a figure landed at the causeway in that now very classic three point landing for heroes everywhere.
Because The Mighty Thor was now there.
Even if it was still just Jane who straightened up, nervously brushing at the cape and looking around. "That was a bit much, wasn't it?" she muttered to herself, still trying to fix the armor and cape like it was normal clothing. "Now I see why he liked it so much."

"...hi?"

"Hi," Jane said, perking up at a face she didn't exactly know, but knew of at least! She even offered a little wave with the hand holding Mjolnir.
no subject
She also knew that whoever was able to hold it was a cool person, so Jane was immediately okay in her book.
"Cool entrance."
no subject
"Thank you," Jane said, smiling wider before leaning in to share, "It was much first one."
The one in New Asgard didn't really count.

Maybe Jane was a very dedicated cosplayer.

You know, like their lives.
"Ex." Then added, "Girlfriend," to clarify. "Jane Foster," she said, swapping the hammer to her other hand to offer a handshake.
no subject
He did not mention that she was a buff babe who also had a hammer, but whatever. Talking about exes could be weird.
"I'm Wanda Maximoff. Thor's coworker. Friend. Friend-coworker."
no subject
"He did?" Jane, no. "I mean, it's nice to meet you. I've seen you on TV through and ... heard from another friend."
no subject
"A non-Thor friend?" Damn it, at least Thor would make Wanda sound good no matter how many people she had accidentally killed. The way he talked about Jane, Wanda expected her to be shooting sparkles and rainbows out of her face.
Though the lightning was actually pretty close to that...

At the time. She was totally fine now, pfft.

"She's good! I just saw her in New York before--" She gestured at herself. "What a difference five years makes in a career, you know?"
no subject
"I think a lot of people were working in overdrive those five years," she said. "Kind of wish I hadn't been dust for it."
Imagine how much the Darkhold could have screwed her up in those five years! She'd definitely have her kids back by now!
"What brings you here?" Wanda asked. "You're dressed for New Asgard, not Maryland."

He had, however, also bought some for the road, and he was munching on an almond croissant (so good, he could never make really good pastry like this) from the open box as he walked around a bit to get his bearings before heading back to his apartment, and he paused, half-eaten pastry in one hand, box balanced in the other, to tell Jane, "I know a guy who does that."
The superhero landings, not the Viking cosplay.

"Well, I'm sort of... training wheels?" Jane ventured. "Valkyrie suggested to get on my feet here and stop accidentally breaking doors in her town. But nicely! Or as nice as she gets."

Wanda being one of them! You know, when she wasn't holed up in her apartment plotting interdimensional travel and kidnapping
"I run the magic shop here," Wanda said. "So if you need anything you can find me there. Be happy to fix a door."
Again, if she wasn't holed up in her apartment plotting interdimensional travel and kidnapping.

Wanda, no.

He had black hair, Jane. It was totally different.
Granted, most of said hair was hidden by his backwards baseball cap, which...actually no Thor would totally wear one of those.

Especially with those arms, holy lord.

He tried to imagine himself in Jane's outfit and concluded that he would rock it, but the cape would be a problem for his wings.
"Oh! Would you like a pastry?" He offered her the box, like a gentleman.

Since the whole Thor thing. Chemo, you know?

Not hyperbole, sadly.

It could have been worse. He could have been Gray. Or Daman. No one wanted to be Daman.

"I'm sure. Do you need help finding the school?" It was the big castle in the middle of everything. "I took my brother there yesterday."

Because of the curse.

Gray might have neglected to tell him the administration included a moose.
no subject
"Oh, good. Well, I'll keep an eye out for him."
Mostly in case he looked like Loki.
