A new semester! And look at Kitty doing something different! Kinda!

"Hey, all," Kitty greeted the class. "If you don't know me, my name is Kitty Pryde-Barton, and I'm an occasional X-Man. I'm a mutant who joined up with a superhero team as a kid, have skipped around to various teams for years, and I've spent time as headmistress at a school for mutant kids at a time when everyone around me was being an idiot."

Looking at you, Avengers vs X-Men. Looking! At! You!

"Currently I'm doing family stuff here but I go back to help when I'm needed. And in a town like this kind of attracts superheroes, so even if you're not one, maybe you want to be one, or you know one. In this class I want to deal with the issues and things that could commonly come up while you're doing this, but I want to get a sense for what kind of class I'm dealing with. Also usually I run this class up at the school so this is different for me. So we're doing good old-fashioned introductions today. I want to know who you are and what your experience is, and what you want to get out of this."

Steven Grant

Miguel O'Hara

Steven had no idea what a mutant or X-Man was but they sounded dead impressive.

"Steven Grant. From London," he said, though as soon as he did he had no idea why that was the detail he felt like leading with. "Er, not part of any teams. Exactly. Not official." He and Marc were a team of course but that wasn't like being an Avenger after all. "Recently gotten into wanting to save the world. Thought this class might be useful."

Miguel waved. "Miguel O'Hara. I'm Spider-man back home. Still do some work saving worlds with my team sometimes, help out here when it's needed. I thought it'd be good to network and maybe get some tips."

The more you knew, the less likely you were to get killed. Theoretically.

Jane Foster

"I'm Jane Foster, currently The Mighty Thor to differentiate myself from the other Thor, but he's not actually on planet back home. Which sort of makes me a Norse god, but its kind of hard to think god when you've seen them complain about tourists," she over-explained before clearing her throat to get back on track. "I'm new to this side of things, but very eager to learn!"

"Good to meet you. How'd you get into saving the world?" Kitty asked.

"Any particular tips you're interested in?" Kitty asked.

"They have tourists?"

She was not aware!

"New Asgard does cruises," Jane confirmed. "It's good for the economy, I've been told."

Steve Rogers

Steve gave a tiny little wave to the group. "Hi, I'm Steve Rogers. Some of you might also know me as Captain America. I currently run a team out of upstate New York called the Avengers along with my job here teaching up at the school. This term Tony--um, Iron Man--and I are teaching American inventions."

Which was not a surprise for anyone who'd met either of them.

"I'm eager to learn different ways teams work together, good and bad." He gave Kitty an earnest smile. "You can learn more from failures, but I'd rather learn from someone else's failures."

Steve gave her a grin and a wave. "I thought you looked familiar! Thor put your picture on the fridge."

"He did?" Oh no, she was feeling touched that Thor would do that. Stay strong, Jane.

Also... Captain America.

"Whatever keeps me alive," Miguel said wryly. "Beyond that, I'm flexible."

Really flexible. Unlike Parker, he wasn't going to make a joke about it. Well, not here.

"Right, sorry," Steven said as he realized he'd left that part off. "Avatar of the Egyptian god of the moon."

Amazing how matter of fact he was about something he once considered the stupidest thing he'd ever heard.

Steven did a double take ~~since this ends the months long streak of him not even knowing Steve Rogers was on the island, RIP~~. Once he realized Steve did, in fact look like Captain America, he lit up with the excitement of meeting a celebrity.

"The Captain America? That's amazing!" Steven then gave an apologetic look. "Sorry. Don't mean to interrupt or bother you or anything but I've got to ask: what's it like living on the moon?"

Sorry, Steve. Steven only ever saw you in the news and on magazine covers and the like. He didn't know the version he was talking to was a few years too young for that question.

Steven perked up when he heard Jane mention a few things he recognized. "Thor" and "tourists" in particular stood out since he and Marc had always gotten the strangest looks when bringing that up themselves. "Hello. Sorry, but do you mean Thor the Avenger? And New Asgard? Are we from the same world?"

They weren't, but it was an understandable confusion.

"...I maybe want to go on a New Asgard cruise?" Kitty realized. "I've been to Asgard..."

"That is the most Cap answer," Kitty told him.

Which was also why he was better than her Cap.

"You should go," Jane replied eagerly. "I could see if I can get you a discount."

Because somehow Jane didn't think she could get it for free despite being Thor. Jane, really?
